I live in an area where we have to pay for trash pick up. There is a drop off center 3 miles away and it is open 7a-7p 7 days a week so some people opt to just use that facility instead of paying for a service. The people next door had trash service but have stopped paying for it so the company stopped picking it up but left the 2 large rolling bins. These people save their trash until both bins are overflowing and then they throw it in a heap and burn it. I'm talking diapers, cans, packages, everything! Whatever doesn't burn up just gets left to blow all over the neighborhood, it's so gross. The burning law says we can't burn household garbage but a lot of people do but they use barrels and then take away the things that don't burn. I just wish these people would be more considerate and not make our neighborhood look so trashy.
The code enforcement people aren't very effective. BUT, I could call the fire department on them the next time they burn since they aren't following the law. I'd hate to ruin it for others who are responsible. They had so much trash in the bins this time it was falling out. Now it's a smoldering pile of filth.
What about taking to your other neighbors about it? There's strength in numbers, if you all got together and confronted them as a group. I'm SURE it bothers more people than just you!

The one person who rode him about it constantly has moved to another state. I'm going to complain about the trash burning to the guy around the corner, he is a fire inspector and an @zzhole lol. He will get all over this guy in a heartbeat!

I don't like that you can't burn household trash. What are you supposed to burn then? LOL
it frustrates me that we have to pay for trash service when you can burn it. I understand not burning aerosol cans, batteries and other HARMFUL things but everything else is just the city's way if getting money from you when there's an absolutely free way to dispose of your trash.

We can burn yard debris such as leaves and branches. There are plenty of drop off centers that take everything else and have recycling bins. It's free, part of our taxes pay for it. They are open 12 hours a days 7 days a week. It's 3 miles away. They have a vehicle so it isn't like they can't take it there. It wouldn't be so nasty if they burned the stuff a few times a week instead of filling up 2 bins that are like 50 gallon size before they burned it.
