They look great LGG!! Baking is not my forte I guess practicing would help me improve. I would have used store bought crust, lol.

Yeah I never made pies and neither did my mom. But I am in the process of really trying to learn to make a good crust. And those premade crusts are like $4 and I would need to buy 2 packs probably. And it's just flour, chilled butter ir crisco, salt and some ice water. So I can learn!

I made Chocolate Peach Cups for a meeting tonight. Came out pretty well - it involved melting chocolate & coating the insides of a cup-cake liner, then chilling it to make it "set". Next time, I'll put on three coats of chocolate.

I am making this today.

Southern Strawberry Punch Bowl Cake
WOW
LIKE & SHARE it helps you KEEP seeing them every day
1 yellow cake mix
1 (6 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 lg. can crushed pineapple, drained
2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen strawberries
2 bananas
1 (16 oz.) carton Cool Whip

Bake cake in two round cake pans and set aside to cool. Make pudding and set in refrigerator to get cold. Cut one layer of cake in small chunks; put in punch bowl. Spread half of pudding on top; then add half of pineapple and one package strawberries. Slice one banana on top; half of Cool Whip, spreading to cover completely. Repeat with the other layer the same - ending with Cool Whip. Let set in refrigerator overnight.

I don't know if it will sit in the fridge over night. Someone will probably get into it tonight.

Did you get the waffle plates too?  I want to get it all so I can consolidate some of the appliances in the appliance cabinet.

So I changed my mind and made a made up recipe.

I chunk cut a chicken breast and quick sauted it over high heat with some garlic and butter, then I added frozen chopped spinich, a bit of chicken broth, about 2 ounces of cream cheese and about a tablespoon of knorrs dried vegie soup mix. I cooked that on the stove t thicked. Omg! It's a cross between creamed spinich, spinich dip and stuffed chicken. I'm calling it deconstructed spinich stuffed chicken. It is to die for!

I got the punch bowl cake put together.

It took a huge bowl. If you make it, it is huge. Now tomorrow it may be smaller after it settles and whatever. But it is a lot of cake.

That sounds good.  I may have to try it later this week.

HB  eggs turned out pretty good in the instapot.  I can't cook them right on the stove top.  They are either soft boiled or way overcooked with that green/gray ring.  These were just barely undercooked, like maybe an additional 30 seconds.

The punch bowl cake is really good. But it needs more pudding and would be really good with a little chocolate in it. It's like a banana split with cake instead of ice cream.

My trick for hardboiled eggs is to bri g them to a boil for 5 mi utes, turn off the heat and let them sit for 20 minutes.  I seldom have that green/grey ring.  I boil 6 eggs a week to use in salads or for a snack so it's almost second nature for me now.

I stopped hard BOILING the eggs and started STEAMING them.  I've done it multiple times with both older and fresh eggs, and it works like a charm (12 minutes steaming)

I love to cook, it is relaxing for me.  I am hosting Christmas dinner for 7 this year.

Tonight, I am making baby back ribs with a sugar maple rub.   I slow roast them in the oven for 2 1/2 hours, and they turn out perfect.

VOR, your chicken sounds divine.  DH won't do cream cheese, but he is going out of town next week, so I'll try it on my own!

Does anyone here like quinoa?  I do it cold in a salad, but hot, I cook it in a broth (either chicken or beef) with a packet of onion soup mix.  Everyone loves it, and it's so stupid easy!

I believe it's a carb. It can be paired with anything and taste good though so I used it all the time.

I have tried multiple method for cooking HB eggs. I fail the majority of the time which is why I gave DH the job. Now I don't have to wait for him.

I turned the roast into stew meat and have beef stew cooking now. Smells delicious so far.

It's a carb, but the highest in protein.

I'll take a pic of the ribs when they come out of the oven.

I can't wait until I can start actually cooking again. Still can't stand very long, so standing over a hot pan on the stove is not a good idea yet. I'm getting tired of sandwiches and frozen dinners.
