Copyright and Spam issues

We geeks fully enjoy reading news articles and dissecting them to death.  However, the constant copying of ENTIRE news articles led to copyright complaints that were not being addressed by PBJ on GT because he was MIA.  This, together with spam complaints that were also not being handled, led Sparklit to pull the plug on GT.

Of course, I do not want to curtail this completely b/c it is part of what we discuss.  However, you must limit the copying and pasting of ENTIRE articles, and you MUST include the by-line and credit the site you are getting the article from.  If you cannot do this, please simply summarize the article in your OP and post a link.  Most of us are internet savvy enough to go read the article if it interests us.

Also - if you receive a spam notice, DO NOT repeatedly attempt to post the same article over and over. It's really not that urgent that it be on the board that moment.   You are getting a spam notice because your article contains too many links and junk.

And please clean up the excess links, pics, etc. when posting articles.

Responding posters can fill in necessary missing parts to make their arguments as needed.

Also - please remove advertisements from your articles.  That circumvents Sparklit's advertising revenue.  Thank you.
