"Saturday In The Park"

Saturday in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
Saturday in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
People dancing, people laughing
A man selling ice cream
Singing Italian songs
?
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time
For Saturday
Saturday in the park
You'd think it was the Fourth of July
Saturday in the park
You'd think it was the Fourth of July
People talking, really smiling
A man playing guitar
Singing for us all
Will you help him change the world
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time
For today
Slow motion riders fly the colours of the day
A bronze man still can tell stories his own way
listen children all is not lost
all is not lost
Funny days in the park
Every day's the Fourth of July
Funny days in the park
Every day's the Fourth of July
People reaching, people touching
A real celebration
Waiting for us all
If we want it, really want it
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time

Never heard that song, either. But that doesn't mean much as I am rather isolated. LOL
Beautiful Saturday here; good chance to get outside and clean up the garden and around the house. Hope someone does...

Plan on taking DD to Salem for a witching time. But worried, I'm not feeling all that great. Hope its just due to not sleeping over the last couple of days. I did sleep well last night but woke up early.

Everyone has heard that song.

DH and I are both off today. He just went back to sleep, so I may run a few errands without him.

DH had a sore throat at the beginning of the week, which is how mine started, but he seemed to fight it off. I think Baby J is getting it now. She had a sore throat 2 nights ago, but then it seemed to pass. But last night, she crawled up on the couch with me at about 8:45, said "I don't feel good" and promptly fell right to sleep next to me. She isn't awake yet this morning. But she hasn't been coughing, yet. DD10 has been fine.

Sorry you are sick, LL. We had the crud last week, we all thought we were going to die. Not fun at all. Hope DD is better this morning.
We get all the grand's today. Mom and dad are going shopping today and having a small date lunch together. They are bringing home pizza's for supper for the NE game tonight. The grand's are looking forward to a whole day with grandma. I think we will make old fashioned popcorn balls again. They loved making them earlier this week.
Have the vacuuming and dusting done already. Yay me..
Attacking the laundry now, I swear that stuff breeds.. no

He's still wanting to eat every 2-3 hours at night. I'm attempting to drop a feed. I think part of it is he isn't that interested in solids yet. I keep offering, but he is more interested in the spoon. Unless it's watermelon.

I'm back from the Vet. Ares is healing nicely. The doctor wants to see him one more time, so we'll take him in on Wednesday.

Now, a new problem. Jessi asked the doctor to take a look at a boo boo on his left hind leg. It's a tumor. Not cancer, but the kind of thing that can ulcerate, and get infected. It doesn't seem like a big deal to have it removed. So, we are thinking that is the way to go. Might as well get this pup healthy all at one time.

Oy, and I just noticed the A&M plays Bama today. I don't like our chances. (Which I'm sure makes Oh4 happy.wink) Hoping for a good game, at least.smile

Our DS refused to eat solids at that age as well. I finally went to the pediatrician and asked him how to solve the problem. He said, feed him his first bottle in the morning and not to give another until he ate. I thought that was harsh at the time, but did follow his advice.

The first day, he would not eat the food until almost 2 p.m., then I gave him a bottle. It worked!!

But, I had to do that with every single new food I introduced to him. Stubborn baby!!!

He was 9 1/2 months old when we had to do this. He should have been eating solids long before I took him to the pediatrician again.

I hope you find a solution for your son. I know you are nursing and that does make it a bit more difficult.

DD nursed all her babies and had to do the same thing with her second child. She nursed her until she was 15 months old. But, she did eat solid foods at about 9 months after withholding the breast for hours first. Took DD about 2 weeks to get her DD to eat solids regularly.

DD did have to pump during that change over to solids.

Bonny have you tried putting the baby cereal in his bottle for his night feeding before bed? It helped my kids sleep a little longer. Mine slept well but they would wake up about 2 hours before time to get up. I really needed those last two hours.

It's a nice day here. Sun is shining, the kids all have things they are doing, I am spending some time here. It's a good day.

May do some serious online shopping later when all the kids are gone and I can seriously look. I want to have my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving. It isn't going to be much but I want it done so everything is delivered and I am not worrying about anything later.

This is the first time in 3 years that I have been able to actually get my kids real Christmas gifts. I cant put into words how good it feels to be able to do this again. Christmas is actually becoming fun for me again.

Immediate family. My kids and my parents.

I just planted a BIG bunch of winter flowers in my nice little back yard! Snapdragons, tiny white daisies and yellow calendulas along the fence where the dogs DON'T fence-fight with passing dogs, plus my old wheelbarrow is simply full of daffodil, tulip and crocus bulbs, with purple pansies along the edge. I'm now tired, dirty and happy!

Cereal is normally the first first, Bonny - is he not eating anything?  He needs to be eating food at this point.
