So the ripping happened when the scalp was pulled from the skull. There was not a tearing of the scalp. Still abuse not what I was thinking initially.

I cant help but think about a surgery I watched once. The doctor needed to repair the skull, they wired it or fused it some how. What stuck out was how they got to it.

They made and incision in the hair line and then basically rolled the scalp back. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time.
I wonder how much torque is needed to cause this kind of injury.

My guess is that the mother picked her up so she was hanging by her hair.
