We are giving out little juice boxes.  Those have always been a huge hit with the kids because they say "Yaaay a drink, I'm so thirsty!"

They are running around all night in the dry fall air and don't think to bring a water bottle.

What are you geeks giving out?

That's such a good idea! I usually pick something up but no one comes. All the kids go up to the big church that hosts a huge event for anyone who wants to come. I turn off the porch light after dark because anyone knocking after that is way too old to be trick or treating.

I have a mix bag of skittles, nerds, and something else. We generally don't have but maybe two or three stop by.

So I get what I know my kids will like and eat later.

Where did you buy the Take-5?  They are my absolute favorite & I haven't seen them in years.  I thought they stopped making them.

I got them at Walmart.  I was looking for them for the last month and Walmart didn't have them.  Last night they finally had them.  I bought 3 bags. lol.  They are my favorite too.  I love those things!

When kids use to use paper bags you could toss an ice cube in there and then go gather the candy they lost later.

Cant do that anymore.

Take 5 is a hershey product! We still make them! Check convenience stores, especially independent ones that aren't part of a chain but are fairly busy. That tyoe of store should have them. Not as often in a grocery store/big box.

If you PM me your address I could mail you some!

Oh...and shame on all of you who are giving out Mars products! 😜

We don't have any trick or treaters on campus so I won't give out anything. I have access to plenty of goodies all year long though.

Empy - that is the BEST idea! Good for you!

Our favorite house to stop at (when the kids were small) was up the street from us. They grilled hot dogs every year and passed them out to everyone - including parents! The kids loved it, most of the parents had to skip dinner to get out and trick or treat and so they loved it too. It was the best!

For some reason they never seemed to take off in this area.  They were always hard to find at convenience stores.  I turned my then SO's son onto them & we would look in every store we went to.  If we found them it was "score" & we bought a handful.  Only one year at a CVS have I ever seen the big bags of fun size.  I may just have you mail me some this winter when I'm sure they won't melt.  I take it you work for Hershey?

Sonic use to do .50 corndogs on Halloween but I haven't heard anything about it this year.

Some Halloween treats I have heard of:

Krispy Kreme is giving away a free doughnut to anyone in a costume.

Arby's will add bacon to anything if you say trick or meat when ordering Halloween. Even your milkshake.

If I hear of more I will pass them along.

 Thanks :)

I hope the next house from the hog dog people was handing out drinks!  ;) That would make me thirsty!

One of our neighbors used to give out hot chocolate in styrofoam cups but they stopped because so many people would refuse because of trust issues.  That's sad.

None that I know. Honestly, I stopped because, for 2 or 3 years in a row, we got VERY few little kids in costumes. What we DID get was teens with no costumes & empty pillowcases.

I do. Just say the word and I can get you a fix!

Also, I have freezer packs that the company mails candy to my house in. I could do that in a pinch if you want! If it fits, it ships!

Hershey, is the pits, in my humble opinion. Hate the Kisses. Gak! Almond Joys are great! Mounds are good, too.

Some of it is okay. I like Nestles better.

That's usually when you START giving out candy--you aren't out with your children.

We ALWAYS went to older people's houses when I was a kid.

We can't give out candy, because if it's in the house at all, it becomes see-food.

So we give out coins.

Spouse wants to give each kid 20 cents in (mostly) pennies, so it sounds like a lot falling into their bags / plastic pumpkins.

I want to give each kid a quarter.

She says if we do that, a lot of them will come back to our door over and over.

What do you think?
