I voted. Our polling place usually has a steady trickle. It is a smaller area so that's good I guess. Most of the local candidates ran unopposed. It took a few minutes to vote.
I voted! It wasn't busy, but I wouldn't expect it to be. Good thing about being in a small town. The lady that checked me in was my first grade teacher lol
I couldn't vote this time because I hadn't realized that my name wasn't changed yet from my divorce. I was wondering why I wasn't getting any ballot! So it was too late for me. Too bad, there were some hot gun issues I wanted to put my two cents in.

Don't worry, I voted 3 times to make up for you and Flan skipping this election.

(I know I didn't vote, but I still want to know the outcomes!)
The Republicans gained 10 more seats in the House, cementing their majority there, and took the majority in the Senate. This means the laws the House presents will actually get to the Senate to be voted on.
The Democrats were defeated all over the country, which should send a sound message to White House.
Except, of course, where I live locally. Sigh. But at least the State seats mostly went Republican.

Republicans control the House and the Senate...with a Democratic President.
Not looking forward to the next two years...
flan
If he vetoes everything Congress tries to accomplish, he basically guarantee a loss for the Democrats in 2016. He'll be the one not listening to the people. Not that he cares.

It depends on what they want to accomplish. If it turns into a pissing match, we all lose.

The people have spoken pretty clearly with those election results.

Not surprising, flan. That's how Obama won, after all. So now that America has seen what his administration has done or failed to do, the tide is turning, it would appear.

Pissing matches are a GOOD thing. It is supposed to be a battle of ideas with the best ideas coming to the top. Not a bunch of lilly livered namby pamby politicians scratching their crotches and backslapping. Dems LOVE to talk about compromise, by which they mean Repos agreeing to THEIR ideas. Well, enough is enough you stupid Repos.
I think the people have spoken. In masses. People are tired of the way things are and want change. GOOD change. It doesn't matter if they voted FOR someone or AGAINST someone what they are saying is I DON'T LIKE IT THE WAY IT IS NOW! And I will do whatever it takes to change it.

That may be. I don't doubt that. But it's still the people's right, and choice, to say they don't like the status quo. America has spoken.

Actually very very few incumbents were voted out of office. Most districts reelected the same people who are in the very Congress the voters claim to hate. They say they don't approve of the job being done in Washington, but everyone thinks "it's not MY congress person's fault. It's the other guy".
In my opinion, we needed to vote in new blood. Regardless of which party you support. We need new people.

I believe there were at least 7 incumbents that were voted out with several more that are still undecided. And that's just the senate. 2 Demo governors were voted out in liberal states. I think that's more than very, very few, IMO.
But I'll agree, we need new blood. So far, we got 9 new bloods. That's not a bad start.
Jon Stewart, the anchorman of the Left couldn't even be bothered to vote. And, yet, they are going to still prop him up as some great political commentator. Uh huh.

Well, personally, I understand the Dems that didn't vote. They couldn't vote for Republicans on principal, and the Democrats have been nothing but disappointing.

I am not opposed to not voting as being your vote. There are occasional times when I didn't not truly like either candidate. And, I will no longer hold my nose and vote for the lesser of 2 evils. As long as we keep doing that, we won't get the best candidates. Sometimes it is better to go down in flames for a few years rather than electing subpar people. And, they have to earn my vote. I am not going to give it to someone simply because they have an R behind their name.
