This is from my neck of the woods. The owner wants to house lions and tigers at a flea market.

That doesn't seem like the right environment for lions and tigers. I don't think I'd be on board with this idea.no

I live in the same area. It is so loud. This property is a former lumber store. No grass. the entire lot is concrete. The owners are starting to be real pains. They keep saying they are leaving but haven't yet.

What kind of laws are on the books about owning exotic animals, SB? This could be against the law.

It's outside city limits so I'm sure the laws are easier to get around. The city and the base which is across the highway from this lot already have had run ins with this guy. They actually had a physical confrontation with the base commander outside a city council meeting when they made him shut down the flea market that was outdoors. I thought that closing down the outdoor market was a bit extreme. There is a drive in right behind it. It would be horrible if one of the cats got out and got a hold of a kid playing on the playground.

Argh! It seems like a rotten place for the big cats to live.

And I agree, it could be a disaster, if one of them got loose. It just sounds like a bad idea, all the way around.

Maybe zoning laws will put a stop to it. I can only hope.no

Almost a thousand people have already signed the petition on one of those petition sites. Myself included. If he wants to do something like this he needs to go a few miles farther out where it's a little quieter. I won't step foot in this business if they follow through and get the cats.

I don't blame you, SB. I would avoid this business, too.

Let's hope he doesn't go through with having the cats.
