Cold here. When I left the house at 7:00 it was 25 degrees.

Sounds like lots of folks are dealing with cold temps this weekend.

I'll have to bundle up a lot to do the leaves this afternoon.

MIL would be disappointed. She wants to have all her children and grandchildren in the same room once since FIL passed in 2007. That has not happened yet. It may not even happen today depending on DS's schedule.

I really love and respect my MIL. I hate disappointing her. She (and FIL) has done so much for us. She is a friend as well as family.

I love going to breakfast but most my friends are not morning people. DD isn't a morning person either. Early for her is like 10. I have one friend who likes to get up early but going out means going with her 2 kids. I don't hate them but her daughter who is 10 will sit there and refuse to order anything saying she isn't hungry and then she expects food off everyone's plate. Sorry I'm not your mamma, it isn't my job to feed you!

Sounds as if your friend still babies her daughter. That's too bad. Kids can be fun going to breakfast.

Good morning all!!

I have been absent here for a bit because puppy was neutered and he has been requiring some extra attention. Ever try and prevent a toy fox terrier from jumping? Might as well tell him not to breathe!!

Also, we have some recruits visiting, so I have been playing host and being generally pleasant all day. It's exhausting being nice!

DD has finals coming up so she is busy studying and that means she needs constant snacks and positive reinforcement. I am a professional cheerleader. Lol

Trying to decide if I should decorate for Christmas now. We will be gone the week of Thanksgiving and if I wait...well...it might not happen. And I like the decorations. So it's off to the storage space for me I think.

Exam is done. DH is making breakfast, pancakes and bacon. Then to shower and leave. Glad I told DH I wanted to leave an hour earlier than we really need to. Party starts at 4, told him I want to leave at 1. We will probably leave closer to 2.

I am awake! It's my switch day - I gave up my treasured morning shift for a crappy evening shift so that my coworker could celebrate her anniversary with her boyfriend.

It's freezing. It snowed more last night. It was only supposed to snow a little, but it snowed a lot. I am not leaving the house. DD stayed the night with my mom last night, DH will pick her up when he comes home from work. He will also need to pick up diapers and dog food, because we are almost out and I am not leaving the house.

I've been cleaning today, just pulled out all the furniture and vacuumed behind it. I think I will mop next. I wanted to bathe the dogs, but they like to go outside too much, so I will wait for a warmer day.

I'm also going to do some Christmas shopping online today and paint my nails. So even though I'm stuck at home I am getting quite a bit done.

I don't like meatloaf, but DH does.

I cheat & use a packaged spice mix...add water, 2 eggs, and the ground beef. I also put ketchup in the glop to make it moist.

There are so many ways to make meat loaf.

It really changes depending one the meat, spices and such.

NJN I have a good recipe. I'm not a huge fan of meatloaf but I like this one. It's super easy too.

1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
3/4 c. milk (or enough to make mixture moist)
1 lb. hamburger

crush crackers, mix with milk and soup mix, mix with ground beef

Bake at 350 till it's done

Most meatloaf calls for some kind of filler. The point of meatloaf was to make your beef go further.

You can use anything. Corn flakes, some kind of gluten free, unsweetened cereal would work.

So far, two wrecks locally, that I am aware off.

East of us is worse. Numerous big wrecks and at least one death. The ice is awful.
