So, my Dad's dad died a few days ago. I only met him once and my dad didn't know him all too well either. The last few weeks he was really sick so my dad spent quite a bit of time with him. My sister and I have decided to fly out to be with my dad for the funeral. DD is staying here with DH, but I am taking Baby A. I am feeling really apprehensive about the trip. Flying with a baby, leaving DD behind, and worrying about things that aren't likely to happen. If you could please say a prayer for us or keep us in your thoughts I would appreciate it. 

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Will be praying hard for you. It's hard to worry about traveling with a baby while worrying about leaving one behind. DD will be fine with DH. They'll have a lot of fun together!

You'll be fine, but what a horrible w/e to travel! These things never happen at convenient times. Oh well, you are doing the right thing for your father, and that is what counts.

The weirdest thing about being on vacation? Getting cheese out of the frig with being tackled by 2 dogs. (Cheese is the only "people food" they get.)

I miss the sound of toenails on the floor...

Stupid question:

I use a mouse with my laptop. When I got here, I set up shop on the kitchen counter (which has a laminate surface). The barstool is a tad uncomfortable, so I switched to the kitchen table (which has a glass surface). Now the mouse won't work...I assume it doesn't like the glass surface.

Thank you all so much! I couldn't sleep at all last night. Yes, it is a sucky w/e to travel and because of that we got a horrible flight with two layovers.

You need to use something as a mouse pad. A blank (or used) piece of printer paper should work fine. 

Second idea, make sure the battery is okay.

NAOW, sorry to hear about the loss of your grandfather. Sending prayers for a safe trip for you and your sweet baby girl.

Flan, I hope you got more bandaid's . You really shouldn't be using a razor anymore you know. biggrin

We have survived!! Day 6 is underway!! No one has been injured. No huge fights (except for snowballs). Our house is still standing, though it is a bit shaky at times. All the pets are alive, even though the cat tried to destroy a bedroom and it has been freezing cold. No complaints from the school. Wow, I think we will make it!

Mom and dad finish clearing out his mom's house today and they hope to be on the road home late this afternoon. Sunday is our give the kids back day! I'm going to put all of them to work tomorrow, cleaning. Gosh, the help will be nice.

No pre-school today, so the four year old gets to spend the whole day with me. She is so bossy!!! Gosh, she makes me look good! Out of all five of the kids, the four year old is the boss. no She was born a natural take charge kind of person. She definitely dances to her own drummer.

Good afternoon! I have been lazy today. Slept really late.

Watching movies. Getting an overload of action heros. Expendables 2 is becoming a favorite.

Gonna pick up the boys later. Make some supper. Revival starts tonight and I am going to try to go.

lol The two worst things for DH and I are lying and stealing. So SS told about thirty lies. Not kidding here. He lied to his mom, lied to his teacher, lied to his grandma, lied to his dad, lied to me. Then he had to lie some more to cover all the lies up. It kept snowballing. So now he is in deep doo doo. He's in his room reading and writing reports and an essay on lying. He will stay there for four days with no tv, games, electronics, or toys. He is allowed to come out to drink and pee. Otherwise his life is pretty much over for the next four days.

Glad to hear it NAOW. Praying for continued peace for you and your dad and sister.

Is this the first time he will see the new baby? Of course it would be better under better circumstances. But it may help him to see her. Babies have a way of helping heal a hurt.

Ok just made s'mores with DD and her friend that is sleeping over. How pathetic is it that a piece of graham got stuck in my throat and I nearly choked. What a horrible death that would have been. I wasn't done eating the s'more yet!
