So, it's official. I am switching schools early. While looking where to transfer for my BA, I found out that the community college in the next county (where I work) offers the exact AA program that I need (Human Services) and it includes the Gerontology Certificate that I will need as well in order to do the work I want to do. There are some classes that I have taken that are not a requirement for this program but will be required for the BA. It still means another year to eighteen months until I get it from new school but it also means that it won't be another year for the Gerontology Cert after the AA.
It is considered a Shared program which means I will pay in county rates. Most all of the classes are online. I will have to do a practicum for 240 hours.
I still plan on going for my BA but I can do that while working, hopefully.
The bad news is that DH's company is moving to Massachusetts where the US headquarters is. From Philadelphia. And they are not taking the contractors. Not that we would move or he would commute. This is to take place over the next year so who know how long really. At least this time, he has the experience.
A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
It's a pharmaceutical company. Three months ago, they were going to expand here but move their headquarters to the UK. Then the government went and changed regulations regarding overseas companies. Now they are consolidating their US locations.
DH is IT so hopefully it won't be too painful of a transition. Last time, he was out for 2.5 years but did some temp jobs. This job was supposed to be a 4 month temp job. He's been there just under 4 years as a contractor.
He does have a plan. We are off this week for a staycation. A recruiter is how he got this job. They love him especially since he can work alone or lead a team extremely well. He will be working on updating all that this week while I am writing my research paper.
