Why am I making soup at 5:30? Because my little princess wants to bring soup in for lunch today. When I say "making" it, I mean heating it up. but still, it's interrupting my coffee and GT time.

But you are on vacation flan.
IKWTDS You are a good mommy.
It is warm. I am wearing flip flops into work. Of course I have to put different shoes on when I get there but still... :).

School today?  We don't have that.  Kids are out all week.

Yes. You guys start later. This schedule is part of "year round" schooling, where we start August 1st and have more and longer breaks during the year.

My rental car is small & white (a Nissan, I think). It has Florida plates, which helps me pick it out of a crowded parking lot...except for Saturday, when I was shopping at Wal-Mart.

I pressed the button...nothing...then I tried to put the key in the lock. Luckily I looked inside the car & noticed it wasn't mine. Darn thing was 3 spaces away from my car...

Two of my co-workers are on vacation today through next Monday / Tuesday. I'm covering for them, so desk and conference calls today.

It's windy and wet outside.

I do not.  Summer is too short, and making arrangements for child care a week here and a week there is a pain.

Good morning, everyone.

I need to get my grocery list together, and get to the store.

I don't really want to. But, I guess I'd better get to it.

I finally remembered to buy tights so I can wear my dresses to work. My boss told me I looked cute. Then got a concerned look on her face and said "wait, you don't have an interview today do you ??" She was relieved to hear I don't lol

Well, that was almost too easy. I felt like I was getting a late start. I stopped at the Animal hospital first, for the Rx cat food. And then I went to the store.

I got there at 9:10, and the joint was almost empty! I had the whole store to myself, almost!smile

I was out of there by 9:40! What a pleasant surprise!wink

I bet it will be a madhouse later on. I'm glad I got that out of the way.

I found the Whole Foods store!!!! Why did I not find it sooner???

And my favorite gem/imported gifts place. The shop is crammed with so much; it almost gives you a headache.

Going to the store in a few minutes.

Hurt my knee somehow. It's huge and sore and tight.

I like the school schedule like this. But I do agree it is hard with little kids and having to find child care.

I gotta say I am lovin the later start times every day. High school doesn't start till 8:30. It's awesome.

Hope everyone who is traveling has safe and smooth travels this week.

IKWTDS, I remember making soup in the morning. I kept telling myself at least they will have something warm for lunch instead of a sandwich.

Are you kidding? It's a beautiful story! My favorite line in the whole thing is when Aurora is a baby and Maleficent is outside the window making mean faces and the baby keeps laughing and Maleficent, looking totally put out, says 'I hate you'. You can see right from that moment that she doesn't hate her at all.

We watched a depressing movie this weekend. It's called Disconnect. I had never heard of it. It's about how the Internet ruined 3 families lives. Sad but it makes you think.

Back from the store.

Got all of Thanksgivings fixings and rounded out the rest of the weeks groceries for less than $200.

I hope Maleficent is as good as I think it will be.

O4 I do think we spend too much time "connecting" on line instead of building and maintaining real relationships these days.

LL, we don't do year round school and SS is out for a whole week.

I love the internet. I knew Target would be crazy today because they turned ours into a super Target. Everyone will be there getting last minute things but they had a sale on Elf on the Shelf jammies. I went online and bought them for SS and his sister.

And now I hate flan because I checked out Zulily and I'm probably going to spend some money there.

It has been a crazy week for me. Tons going on at home, a lot to do at work, and I am also trying to clean the house (spring cleaning in fall?) top to bottom.

Tomorrow after I work 5 hours, we are getting in the car for the drive to Ohio to stay with my parents for the holiday weekend. While we are there, we will get to see my niece and nephew. They live in South Carolina so we have only seen them a few times since they have been born. They don't remember us at first, but we are so irresistible that they soon warm up. Lol. Plus I bring presents. That always helps.

DH and DD arrive back here tonight from a weekend tourney where over 300 college coaches watched DD's team! Hoping to hear that one of them wants to give DD a scholarship. She has some offers already but hasn't found "the one" yet. She is just a junior, so there is time - but most in her sport commit their junior year.

I will soon be inundated with stinky laundry so I am off to finish MY laundry so it doesn't have to mingle with the stinky stuff.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Be safe and eat too much!

Year round schooling?  No Ma's, get out in mid June, depending on snow days taken, go back right after Labor day.  Thanksgiving break starts on Wednesday, one or one and 1/2 week break at Xmas, Feb and April vaca and that's it.  You have a much more involved year with school than we do.

Yes - the kids start about August 1st.  They have a week off in October, a week off for Thanksgiving, at least 2 weeks off for Christmas/New Year's, a week off in February, and a week off in April.  PLUS the usual Monday holidays and an early release day every month for some reason or other.

Oh - and we get out the Friday before Memorial Day.  So, depending on how that falls, we get June & July off and sometimes a week at the end of May.  Although last year, we went back after Memorial Day for 3 days to make up ice days.

We are going 175 days as opposed to the 180.

We go to school longer but we actually go less.

Did you reserve a spot in a homeless shelter for next month when you're completely broke? wink

Maybe if your computer gets unplugged you can stay solvent ???

I try to control myself when my paypal account is empty.  I told my husband he needs to work on that.  He sells stuff online and the money goes in my paypal account.  I love it when it magically appears.  This years we have bought a new washer and dryer and both girls news beds with my magic paypal money.  Plus, stuff on zulilly.
