I have a great cheat cookie.

I use the sugar cookie tube. Roll into balls and then roll them in colored sugar or cinnamon sugar. I bake them and when they are fresh from the oven I push a Hershey kiss into it.

I have done it with the peanut butter cookie dough too. But I don't roll it in anything.

The kiss gets very melty but when it cools it firms back up.

Peppermint bark is super easy.

Use the white melting chocolate, I melt mine in the microwave, 30 seconds and stir and repeat until smooth. Then pour it out on a wax paper. And sprinkle it with you favorite crushed peppermint candy. lightly press it into the chocolate.

Once it cools just bust it up.

I am going to make it with red hots this year. If I can find the right ones.

I always do roll cookies and frost and decorate them. I also make the ginger cookies and put the kisses in (BTW the kisses go into the cookie AFTER they come out of the over). I also will make a couple of other type. Not sure what those will be this year. We distribute them to the neighbors, have some at home, and I bring them into to work too. In total I typically make about 300 cookies.

I haven't tried it but I am thinking I might.

Use the window looking pretzels, lay them out on a cookie sheet. Top each one with either a rolo or kiss.

Pop in the oven until they melt then push an M&M into the middle. Let cool and firm up. Enjoy.

 Took me one trial and error batch to figure that out. What a mess. But they were good cookies!biggrin

Have you ever made potato candy?

It's simple.

1/4 cup mashed potato

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

A pinch of salt

A 16 ounce package of confectioner's sugar

1/3 cup peanut butter

A little confectioner's sugar for dusting.

So you mix everything but the last 2 ingredients together.

Roll out on wax paper. About 1/4 inch thick.

Spread the peanut butter over it and begin to roll it up.

wrap in the wax paper and chill.

After it has set, slice it into pieces. It's sweet but it's good.

We don't add a lot of vanilla just because we don't care for it. Most of the time we don't use it at all.

NO BAKE OATMEAL COOKIES
Ingredients
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 stick butter
1/2 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups oatmeal
Waxed paper
Directions
In a heavy saucepan bring to a boil, the sugar, cocoa, butter and milk. Let boil for 1 minute then add peanut butter, vanilla and oatmeal. On a sheet of waxed paper, drop mixture by the teaspoonfuls, until cooled and hardened.

I've done that.

Make easy cookies. they don't have to be fancy.

I get little tins from the dollar tree. One of those everything is 1 dollar places.

Use wax paper in them. Or divide them with cupcake papers.

The current family favorite is one that Husband calls "Reindeer Poop".
They are double chocolate drop cookies with red and green m+ms. They look like festive poop, but taste like chocolate.
