Favorite Christmas Movie?

So, last week, everyone in the company received an email from marketing asking us what out favorite Christmas movie is.  This morning, on each of our doors/cubicle entrances were cards with the cover of our favorite movie and a quote from the movie that they think relates most to each person

Here's mine

.

Spoiler

Spoiler

My boss has 8 kids.  His favorite movie is It's a Wonderful Life.  His quote was: Why do we have all of these kids?

I have so many.

Elf

"The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is to sing loud for all to hear."

Pretty much anything from National Lampoon's Christmas movie.

Or when Aunt Edna says Grace.

Or when they go to get the Christmas tree.

All of it.

The Grinch.

I don't know of a Christmas movie I don't like.

"Small One" It's about the donkey who brought Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem.

A young boy must part with his beloved donkey, named "Small One". When he takes him into town to sell him, the only person who wants to buy him is the tanner. When all hope seems lost in finding a kind master, Small One leads his master back to the tanner's shop where he is willing to sacrifice his life. A miracle happens, and he is bought by Joseph to carry Mary to Bethlehem.

Ohfour, what a wonderful idea! Yup, I think they nailed it for you. wink

My favorite Christmas movie is "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickenson, starring George C Scott. It isn't Christmas until I watch that movie.

Second favorite is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

Third, A Charlie Brown Christmas. Fourth, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the original animated version. I hate the one done by what's his face. Ah.... Jim Carey.

I have lots.

White Christmas. It's a Wonderful Life. A Christmas Carol.

One Magic Christmas. Love Actually. The Grinch.

Miracle on 34th Street. Particularly the suave Dylan McDermott version.

And I have to confess I enjoy those silly sentimental Christmas movies on the Lifetime channel.

I love the classic cartoons: Rudolph, with the great Burl Ives songs, and the animated Grinch...and, of course, a Charlie Brown Christmas.

Scrooged, with Bill Murray is pretty good. It's a twist on the classic.

The classic Claymation movies. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. The ones with the Mizers. All of them.

I do not have a favorite Xmas movie.  I rarely watch movies in general.  I also do not watch Xmas shows on the telly.  I channel surf until I find a non-Xmas program to watch.  Or I will turn to Music Choice-Soundscapes on the telly and listen to that.

Christmas Vacation, hands down. I've probably seen it 500 times since I first saw it in the theaters when it came out. The entire movie is classic.

Favorite quote:

Hey. If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here...with a big ribbon on his head! And I want to look him straight in the eye, and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed, sack of monkey **** he is! Hallelujah! Holy ****! Where's the Tylenol?

I have a weird block about White Christmas. Love love love that movie, one of my favorites of all movies, not just Christmas movies.

But I cannot seem to get through it without falling asleep.

This has been happening for several years. Last year we counted how many times I tried to watch it - at least 8! We turned it into a challenge to see if I could actually get through it.

And I could not stay awake for the whole thing even one time.

We even tried putting it on in the late afternoon.  ZZZZZZZ within about an hour.

For this year, I have watched it once so far and fell asleep after about 15 minutes.

I think my brain is now conditioned to fall asleep to that movie.
