Do you buy your pets Christmas presents? I usually get something special for mine. Maybe a few new toys and some extra yummy treats.

Some extra special treats for our cat. A small Christmas decoration cake (about 8 inches) that she turns her nose up at and then we eat it. LOL

Yes. We always buy them stuff. We always seem to have a shortage of tennis balls which is the favored play toy. So at Christmas we generally stock up. They usually get some special treats we wouldn't normally buy. And bones of some sort. This year with three dogs shedding has become an issue so they are getting a combined gift of a Furminator dog brush. It's supposed to be da bomb when it comes to eliminating shedding. It's expensive. But they all three have to share a stocking!

If I am able.

His first Christmas with us Monster got a bed.

Spot always gets the bone from the ham and a new padding of straw and cedar.

They usually get a new collar too.

If I am not able then they don't.

I have a furminator for Corgi. I love it. It works great getting his undercoat. Honestly, not sure how effective it will be on smooth coats like your dogs have. Hope it works

DG, they have tons of hair. Today DH was petting Carlee and handfuls of her hair came out. She has thick long hair. So does Hemi. It's deceiving. The only one that doesn't is Layla and we're actually treating her for hair loss. She doesn't have enough.

We hang a small stocking for Pooch, and put one treat in it.

And maybe a homemade sock toy. He needs one.

Glad to hear tha FWM. The one I have is pretty useless on the lab and beagle, but is great for Corgi's undercoat

Sonny has a stocking. I put new rawhide bones and treats in it. He can't have toys because he eats them then I spend the morning walk pulling the material out of his butt has he tries to poop it out.

When I had pets I did. I had cats, so I'd get them stuff, but they had fun with the paper, the ribbons and the boxes too!

Pepper gets her own stocking, complete with motion sensor action toys, and catnip. Her special treat, though, is a full package of shaved ham (all of one ounce!), given throughout the day. She will do ANYTHING for shaved ham! And if she pukes it up during the night, well, I'll just have to clean it up! LOL!

We seriously need a vacation. DN has offered to house sit the dogs and DS. She has really stepped up. She's growing up so well it makes me sad. We're looking at times we can take some time off to ourselves. We'd like to do the run we made last time but I'm refusing the to stay in the house in Ohio so it's a snag. We may just skip them.

I used to get my pets presents but I don't anymore. They have treats & toys.

My dog always gave my mom & her dog gifts. He stayed there on weekends so he needed to thank them.

You are.  So is referring to them as "children".

husker, for most of us, pets are part of the family.

I know, you don't get that.

That's fine.

But, our fur babies are important to us. (Not the same as our human children. But, important and loved.)smile

That's not crazy. That's called, loving your pets.

JMHO.

Quit being such a Scrooge!wink

I get "important". That's still not equated to "children".

Roger that.

I never said, they equated to children.

But, pets become part of the family.

We love them. And, it's not crazy, to buy them a treat for Christmas.

So, please, try to understand, that people who love their pets, will buy them a little something for Christmas.smile

Whatever.

So, I had a toy in the bag. Jake the cat dragged it out of the bag and across the living room. It's a wand with shiny ribbons hanging off it. His favorite, he goes through a few each year because the ribbons eventually come off.

Monster is like having a perpetual 3 year old only I can leave him home by himself and let him out in the yard by himself.

He is my fur baby.

Spot is my older fur baby. He loves to get in my lap. Of course he is 80 pounds and no longer fits but he tries.

They don't know it is any particular day, neither does a 1 or even 2 year old. So what?

They get something because they bring joy into our lives. Because we love them.

I often refer to Monster as my granddog. I don't have grandbabies yet. So he gets the spoiling for now.
