Good morning Monday.  Hope everyone's week is starting off well.  DH has a doctors appointment today and then we're going to start wrapping and hiding gifts.  We're hoping to find some room in our closet to hide them from the dogs.  If not we'll be looking in DS's room...

Good morning.

Mondays are one day closer to another weekend.

And I agree, bird lice? Gross!

I've had call days. I hated them. You cant plan any thing and don't want to really start something. You spend the whole day in half work, half relax mode. I would rather just go on in that sit around not knowing.

Hope everyone has a great day.

No school for the kiddo's today. Yup, it's not pretty out there. Expecting up to 6 inches of blowing snow on top of the ice. I sure hope the power stays on. I'm almost afraid to start any baking today, may not be able to finish it.

I guess I will knit instead.

How many others have bad weather today?

I finally had to turn on the heat. It was 62 in here and even Roscoe was getting under the blankets. I'll leave it on just long enough to take the chill off.

Last night DH and I went shopping for Christmas dinner. We got: a 14 pound turkey, a six pound boneless spiral cut ham, a four pound prime rib roast, two roasting pans, two half gallons of ice cream, a twelve pack of coke, a twelve pack of root beer, two containers of bbq sauce, two packets of cornbread, two bags of chips, and two containers of dip for $78.44. I think we did pretty good. They're having a huge sale on some of the meat they have. They had a prime rib roast there for $150! No way!

I decided to take the day off today. I was too tired to get motivated and the puppy was just nuzzled into my side so cutely sleeping...that alone should have been good enough reason to stay in.

It's raining today and tomorrow it's supposed to freeze. I hope it melts in time for me to go to work. I will have to actually go tomorrow.

The weekend college coaches' tourney was a huge success. Our girls played some really tough teams, but won every game. And DD played really well, her dad even thought so!

Now to clean my house. It was ignored all last week and all weekend and it's a mess. I need to do a deep clean because we leave for Ohio on Friday for a 10 day visit and I don't like to return to a mess.

Czech, we are going to have maybe .10 of rain. But it will be cold. Sorry you will have to deal with snow.

So the plans for Christmas as of now are,

kids get out half day Friday.

Sometime that afternoon my nephew and niece will be here.

That night or Saturday my brother will be here with his two dogs.

And they will be here until the Sunday after Christmas.

So 9 people and 4 dogs for 8 days. Over Christmas.

JOY TO THE WORLD!!!!

I have to buy groceries for everyone. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks for 8 days.

I didn't know until this weekend exactly what the plans are. And they could change again at any moment.

I was seriously toying with the idea of taking my kids and staying in a cabin over Christmas. But I have waited to long now.

Oh well. The kids are all young older and they can go do things like the mall and movies and looking at lights.

And we have a yard full of things to do.

Any chance you can fake a breakdown and spend those 8 days in the relative comfort of a behavioral health facility?  I wouldn't have to fake it.  I would self admit with homicidal thoughts.

I'm just afraid if I ever got in one of those they would realize I belong there and never let me go.

I will be singing the happiest Christmas songs I can sing, as loud as I can sing them.

And if I have to, I will go find a movie to watch.

There is a $1 movie theater about 30 minutes from me. I could spend whole day there.

Back to work today for a couple of hours. Would have liked to have stayed in bed. It's rainy, cold and gloomy.

I thought I had all of my shopping done, until I got a call from my sister telling me that the quilted flannel shirt I got my dad is not what he wants. They were talking about ideas for Christmas and she asked if he wanted a new shirt, and he said no. Has several that he doesn't wear. So, BIL is taking it back to Penneys and getting him a pair of jeans instead.

One thing I was happy about was that I just got a new laptop. I had about $200 in BestBuy rewards so it cost me almost nothing! My Christmas present to myself. Now I have a couple of big boxes to wrap my nephews' ITunes cards in. My dad likes to wrap several boxes in one big one for really small gifts, so I think I'll have him wrap them.

I wanted to stay in bed today too. Cold, dark, and windy. I talked DH into picking up DD and taking her to ballet.

Awesome deal on the laptop!

I love that idea for wrapping the gift cards. I always mean to do that, but haven't yet. I bet your nephews will get a kick out of it.

Just got home after 2 1/2 hours of work, and didn't realize how tired I was. The home health nurse told me I could be really tired, and I didn''t really believe her because I went to the library to walk every few days and stayed for a couple of hours visiting, but it was an effort to get up the steps into the house when I got home. At least I don't have to work tomorrow. AND I can leave before the onslaught of kids come in! LOL!

The dog I babysit apparently ran away from home. She was scratching and knocking on my door with her nose. I just called her daddy and she's gonna hang out with me for a few hours. Love this girl!

Whew. Day off! Finally. It feels like a long week. 2 new clients this week; both pretty tough cases. Sent one to the ER already because her medical stability dropped. Poor punkin. She's in a really tough spot. And new clients who are in bad shape spin out the rest of the clients, so it was a high energy couple of days. Hopefully things will settle.

Got almost all my errands run and all my bills paid; post office for Christmas cards, bus station to pick up my presents from the family, Wal-Mart for some last minute gifts and stuff for the house (needed an area rug for my little living room - otherwise poor pooch can't jump up on the sofa), PetSmart for pooch's mani-pedi, dog park for a post-traumatic-mani-pedi-experience run, 7-11 for milk and cigarettes, and fast food place because i wanted someone else to cook for me.

All I have left now is to clean out my car (my last Ikea and moving packages are still in there because I wasn't allowed to play with my toys until my final paper was submitted), go to a therapy appointment (I don't really want to, but it will cost me money if I cancel at this point) and then it's just present wrapping, Christmas crafting and Ikea-furniture-building for the rest of the day. I'll have to clean my house tomorrow, but I'm not even thinking about that right now.
