A fun and fuzzy Christmas thread.

Let's tell stories and relate memories from Christmas past.

I will start with one.

I think I was maybe 8ish and it was Christmas eve and I could not go to sleep. It had to be late because mom and dad were getting a bit irritated that I wasn't asleep yet.

So I am in bed and the radio in on playing Christmas music and then during the break the D.J. says "Lilyofcourse, Santa just called and said if you don't go to sleep, he cant bring your gifts and he is about ready to leave our area. So Lily, you better get to sleep."

I was both thrilled and worried.

There are more stories I can share.

Please, share your stories.

And can we please keep this thread fun and friendly? It is Christmas after all.

I grew up in a large family (3 girls, 4 boys) and we'd all wake up early but we couldn't go down until mom and dad called us. We'd spend the time waiting wondering and hoping about what we were getting. One year we tried sneaking down the stairs to see if they were up yet and we found them having coffee and reading the paper...lol. The next year we hid the coffee and newspaper before we went to bed. My parents pretend they were mad but I think they really got a kick out of it.

Best Christmas memory: When I was 7 or 8 we went to Northern Florida to stay in a cabin. There were record lows, we even had a little snow. We brought craft supplies and gathered pine cones to make ornaments. We got a small tree and filled it with love. It was beautiful. The 5 kids slept in the cabin, it was one room and my parents slept on a bed on the screened porch. I'm sure they were much happier out there than in a room with the 5 of us. It was so much fun.

When I was little, my cousins and I had our Christmas dinner in the kitchen, in the floor. We would gather in the corner of the kitchen, usually it was near the oven cause the oven was still warm, and that is where we ate. We were all about 4-5 and we had the best conversations for kids. We talked about how good we had been, silly things the grown ups had done, and really enjoyed being together.

And if a grown up came in we would all stop talking and be silent as a church mouse till they left. No way could an adult know what we were talking about. They didn't belong to our club.

I can't think of a story right now, but I just wanted to wish all the Geeks a very merry Christmas and hope the new year brings you happiness.

My favorite Christmas picture is of my Dad in front of the Christmas tree full of presents with his pockets turned inside out showing he spent all his money. We each got a copy in our stockings in a little frame. I still bring it out every Christmas...lol

One of my fondest memories is staying up all night helping Grandma prepare Christmas dinner.

This year, looking back on DS enjoying his first Christmas will be one of my most treasured memories.

I have only one childhood Christmas memory. I was probably two (almost three), and my parents put up stockings over the fireplace.

Mine had some candy, a toothbrush, and a little toy car.

I remember walking around in my soft, flannel pajamas.

I think they probably did this because my 10 y.o. sister had been talking about everything her friends were doing for Christmas.

 And it only gets better!

I can't wait to see Itty bitty unwrap her gifts.
