I will stick with Roy Orbison and his Pretty Woman for a song I could listen to again and again.

Now I have it going in my head and it will not stop...

 We have been doing this song in Zumba, love it! The first few times the instructor would pre warn people that the song is saying "funk you up" not the other word.

I do not think I can pick one song.  I don't know how I would do that.

His version is my favorite of that song. His voice is a gift.

My favorite is

PETER, PAUL AND MARY
"For Baby (For Bobbie)"

(John Denver)

I'll walk in the rain by your side,
I'll cling to the warmth of your tiny hand.
I'll do anything to help you understand,
I'll love you more than anybody can.

And the wind will whisper your name to me,
Little birds will sing along in time,
The leaves will bow down when you walk by,
And morning bells will chime.

I'll be there when you're feeling down,
To kiss away the tears if you cry.
I'll share with you all the happiness I've found,
A reflection of the love in your eyes.

And I'll sing you the songs of the rainbow,
Whisper all the joy that is mine.
The leaves will bow down when you walk by,
And morning bells will chime.

[repeat 1st verse]

The leaves will bow down when you walk by,
And morning bells will chime.

I first heard this (and loved it) in 1965, a while before Peter Paul and Mary sang it.

Gee I don't think I could nail down a favorite. I am a huge fan of Blondie for staying power. Love her music. And, I find a lot of it to be clever. There are old songs I love and new ones too.

I got a vintage (2009) Peter Paul and Mary CD - with the Prague Symphony for Christmas. I have been letting it run in a loop. (This is one of the reasons I like living alone)
Day is Done holds special significance: I remember when we held subterranean Masses at university in the 70's. The History and English Professors had married and produced this lovely boy. He was about 18 months and Jack just held him and swayed as we sang this one day as a closing song.

Leaving on a Jet Plane - HS Junior bus trip to Boston. The bus held what 40-50 female students, so earnestly singing off key for the love of our lives who was still to be found, but we were being wrenched away. Poignant. Pitiful.

Weave me the Sunshine - Just Joy. http://www.lyricsfreak.com/p/peter+paul+mary/weave+me+the+sunshine_20107727.html

Light One Candle Lyrics
Lyrics ► Artists: P ► Peter, Paul & Mary ► Light One Candle

Peter, Paul & Mary – Light One Candle Lyrics
Light one candle for the Maccabee children
With thanks their light didn't die;
Light one candle for the pain they endured
When their right to exist was denied;
Light one candle for the terrible sacrifice
Justice and freedom demand;
And light one candle for the wisdom to know
That the peacemaker's time is at hand!

Chorus:
Don't let the light go out,
It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our love and our tears!

Light one candle for the strength that we need
To never become our own foe;
Light one candle for those who are suff'ring
A pain they learned so long ago;
Light one candle for all we believe in,
That anger not tear us apart;
And light one candle to bind us together
With peace as the song in our heart!

[Chorus:]

What is the memory that's valued so highly
That we keep it alive in that flame?
What's the commitment to those who have died?
We cry out "they've not died in vain,"
We have come this far, always believing
That justice will somehow prevail;
This is the burden, This is the promise,
This is why we will not fail!

[Chorus:]

Don't let the light go out!
Don't let the light go out!
Don't let the light go out!

Great Anthem song, sung at top voice.

Folk Music will never leave me.

I can't pin it down to just one.

Mr. Roboto - Styx
For Those About To Rock - AC/DC
Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Fight for Your Right - Beastie Boys
Hotel California - The Eagles
That Don't Impress Me Much - Shania Twain
Girls Lie Too - Terri Clark

It really depends on my mood at the time.

My all time favorite, I mean from the time I was a kid, is The Lighthouse by whomever sings it.
