Oh My FREAKING POP UP Ads!!!!!

All of the sudden I am getting a bunch of freaking popup ads from couponarific.  I don't know how to block or stop this stupid thing.  It is grossly slowing down loading of my message boards and use of the scroll, etc.  I have gone online and looked for ways to make changes.  I tried windows Defender.  I tried AVG.  I dont' know what virus or program or whatever anymore!!!!!!  furious

One program I have running all the time is

Lavasoft Ad-Aware.

It's a free download at download.com .

Also Spybot Search and Destroy, and Spyware Blaster.

I might have other pop-up blockers running; I'll see if I can figure out what else to suggest.

What anti-virus software are you using?

Yeah, I went to download the stupid Spybot but it isn't free. Says it's a free download and then when you down load, it will only activate after you purchase it. Arrrggh.

Everything has to be purchased. That one only does 15 fixes. I have more than 70 threats. I think I will take it in and get someone to work on it. How the hell do you that what you are downloading is even real? Geez this is annoying.

You don't have to activate it, activating only gets you automatic updates. You should be able to just run it without activating it.

Just curious, how much $$ do they want for activation?

Is this where you went to download it?

Go to where you can add or delete programs. Someone may have accidentally installed something that is causing the pop ups.

Try this:

Pop-up Blocking in Firefox:

In the top-left of the Firefox window, find the words

" File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help".

Click on Tools.

In the Tools window that opens, lick on "Content".

Click to check the box next to  "Block pop-up windows"

then at the bottom click "OK".

Close and restart Firefox and go back to the Tools / Content window.

Verify that the box is still checked.
