A prominent cyber-security firm says it has uncovered evidence that suggests Sony Pictures was not hacked by North Korea, but rather by a team of six that was led by a dismissed company employee.
Norse’s research directly contradicts claims made by the FBI and President Obama, who have maintained the attack was carried out by the authoritarian regime.
“There is no credible information to indicate that any other individual (besides North Korean hackers) is responsible for this cyber-incident,” read a statement from the FBI, which was briefed by Norse reps on Monday.
Oh, boy. Don't know if this will be what happened or not but it does go to show that no agency or organization should not run off and make all kinds of accusations until there is absolute proof. And I cannot for the life of me believing the FBI would ever back down on a statement they have made.
