Yay. This is probably going to be my worst tax year, ever. If I have to pay in less than 20k I'll be lucky--on top of what they already took out.
It would have even been worse, but our partnership decided to buy a new combine--but that comes with payments, so you don't get the money, you either pay it in taxes or pay it out in payments for stuff. It's impossible to get ahead.
Sure, I bought some stuff this year--we got the hot tub and my wife got a new Fiat.
But what good does having a decent financial year do if you CAN'T do some of those things? Why even bother?

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
Plus, my property taxes went up, so that's another 6 grand gone. I probably spent enough that another 3 grand or so went up in smoke from sales taxes, as well.

Yeah, pisses me off. I am sick of others who WON'T work living better than myself and I have a good job. I am also tired of government officials with monthly income far higher than I make in a whole year.
Just hold to your tax hat. With the much lower oil prices, those states that tax on a percent basis has just lost 1/2 that revenue and will look to raise taxes elsewhere. Stop them, make them cut the non entitlements!
