It's 40 degrees outside and raining.

But the ground is MUCH colder, so the rain is freezing in a thin, invisible layer on everything.

I could spread some ice-melt but it would probably just wash away.

Yep, rain is freezing on the road ways here. Accidents all over. Nobody better take out a light pole and interrupt the games today.

A lot of the highways shut down this afternoon. Rain instantly freezing on the roads. over 50 accidents in my area alone. It was really bad. Glad I was home and warm.

kitty litter ONLY works on traction for cars, in snow.

On sidewalks, it becomes even more slippery than the ice! Plus its crappy to clean up in the spring.
