Maybe it's the cake. Is there another recipe you could try?

I just think the Sprite thing is not for me. It came out okay but it's not like normal. I think it tastes TOO sweet. DH loved the flat one and also liked the new one. The new one is fluffy but not as fluffy as when I do a normal cake. It doesn't look or taste bad at all. I think I just prefer it the original way.

Sorry it didnt work out for you. Don't know why it didn't do right. Strange.

Morning all. Boys at school. C is still asleep and I am about to head back to bed myself. Not feeling so hot today.

Mom got a call at 4 this morning, mawmaw, her mother, is sick. This is the wife of my pawpaw that died this last year. She is 84 and has health issues. Prayers for her are deeply appreciated.

I am trying to think of a cake that is not too sweet.

I have a super chocolate cake recipe that isn't terribly sweet. If you want I can give you that recipe.

You are supposed to drink them - not pour them on your body.

I realized how that sounded after I hit "submit post."

I am trying to get motivated to go to work at noon.

Morning everyone. The three day weekend was good but seemed to fly by.

I am annoyed at my vet. They did not approve my internet purchase of RX food. They said they hadn't seen him in over a year & he needed another appointment before they would approve the food. But they sell it to me regularly. I wouldn't even need to order online if they had it in stock. Grr. I was so mad earlier I decided to switch vets. I doubt I will but I'm still very annoyed.

Why do you need their permission?

It's FOOD. What's so special about it? Does it require a prescription because it's got some controlled drug in it?

It is a veterinary diet to control bladder stones.  But it is the maintenance formula so I don't understand why they wouldn't approve it.  The vet who prescribed it said it was ok to feed to all my cats not just the one with stones.

Update: after everyone agreed that they would also be annoyed I called my vet to see what their reasoning was. They said they managed to get a few smaller bags (I'm guessing from other vets as a courtesy) anyway they got an 8lb bag for me to hold me over. They have my name on a bigger bag when it comes in possibly as early as tomorrow. So I have enough food to get us through. I was happy to get the food & didn't bring up the denial of my internet order.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Glad it's just a 4-day week for me.

Going out for a lunchtime walk. Got to get back to the exercising every day thing. I've still got a paunch from the December onslaught of sweets.

I think would be looking around to find the food somewhere else. Sounds like a play for money.

I bet you could find the same thing for a whole lot less money every where else.

Good for you!!! I am glad they were able to "find some" for you. Isn't it funny how that happens sometimes? Oh wait let Me actually look...yes we DO have it!  Uh huh. Thanks.

I still say look for another vet. A bad office staff can really ruin a doctor. We left a dentist once because of the awful receptionist. I told him why we left in a letter as well. It was a bit awkward because his son went to school with DD, but we moved a year later so whatever.

I'm still sore from my walk Sunday. I took some Flexeril last night and I slept for about 12 hours, but I'm still sore. I have a dr. appointment this afternoon so I'm going to ask him if I can start back to the gym. I really need to build up my back muscles again.

If you do stay with this vet, next time you have an office visit - tell them you want a WRITTEN prescription for the food that won't expire for a year just in case they run out again.  If they won't give you a written prescription, I defeinately dump them.

I did find it online but they required a current RX so they cancelled my order.  I did get a smaller bag from my vet today.  It is Hills Veterinary Diet C/D.

There was a shooting at a major Boston hospital today. Someone shot a cardiologist. Apparently the shooter committed suicide, and the doctor has life-threatening injuries. I'm a little nervous because I know some of the docs at this hospital because of work. I'm really hoping it's not one of them.

Just came back from the doctor and big surprise (not), I have a bladder infection. I feel fine, but I guess I was running a fever of 100 degrees, so they checked it , and I have an infection. On Levaquin for 10 days, then on a prophylactic antibiotic after that to prevent the minor infections. Otherwise, I was fine. Have to go back in a month.

I also finally got approved for my secondary insurance, and it will retro back to October, so all bills should be taken care of. Huge relief. I am also going to get a housekeeper a few hours a month which will help me tremendously, that goes along with it.
