Schools are closed today. Doesn't matter - DD10 wasn't going anyway. She has to go to the doctor, I'm quite certain she has bronchitis. I finally got her to go to sleep sitting up in a chair in the living room. Now, I'm exhausted.

If I had posted this on the increase your post count people would have said, Awwwwwwww cute. He's a cute monkey. There were actually pictures of people eating termites that I didn't post. I've seen people post way worse pictures. I think it's funny. It's hilarious every time someone has to start a new thread.

I really like apes. They are amazing to watch. To watch them care for one another can be humbling.

And Ya'll know if you click the most recent post on the main page it opens to the last post and you don't even have to see the picture?

We never got anything but rain yesterday. Temps started going up yesterday and got all the way up to 38.

Then it stopped raining about 3 or 4 and the wind dried it all up. This morning about 7 the temps began to nose dive again.

It's 24 now.

We hit our high after midnight.

I have to take the boys ad find shoes. Two boys. Sizes 15 and 16, triple E for both of them. They are hard to find but the selection is limited so I guess it evens out.

I thought we might get some snow this morning, but it didn't happen.

The weather man said it was evaporating before it hit the ground.

Fine by me!smile

It's still cold. 35, heading for a high of 50. At least the sun is out.smile

Have a great day, everyone.

Because of Layla losing hair we started the dogs on high protein food. We did it exactly like they told us. We transitioned them into it. They were on Purina Pro Plan but we put them on some form of Blu Buffalo. They did really well. Then DH went back to get more and they had stopped carrying the kind he bought. He got more Blu Buffalo but they are really picky and we've had to try several of the flavors to find one they like. Unfortunately, Hemi is 14 and some of it seems to upset his stomach.

He's also taken to sleeping next to my side of the bed. He's always slept in the hallway in front of the kids rooms. A couple weeks ago he moved into our room. He's not sick other than the old issues he has. I keep wondering how long he has left.

Stride Rite is the only shoe my boys could wear. They were pricy but they were good shoes. They have really wide feet too.

Just got back from getting them new shoes. Lucked out and found some on sale. I only paid $70 for two pair. They wear triple E.

For some reason my last post was flagged as spam.

Bonny, I always bought Stride Rite for my boys. It was pricy but it was the only shoes that they could wear and they were good shoes.

Just bought the boys some new shoes. I got lucky and found them on sale. Got two pair for $70.

I was going to recommend Stride Rite too. It is pricey, but the shoes are good quality and the employees take the time to fit each child properly. It's so important to have good quality shoes, I would personally cut the budget somewhere else to afford the best shoes. But that is just me. Yes, they do outgrow them, but while they wear them it's important that they really fit properly. Buy fewer pairs of better quality.

TLC, a little confusion is normal. I bet she is on blood thinners too? Those tend to add to the confusion. Praying they find the right treatment fast.

There is a website with pics of mullets on it in NH.

You probably have some sludge in the tank.  Sucks to have to empty it. That's when I put on my best dumb blond face and ask help from on of the neighborhood guys or call DS and tell him I am making his favorite meal. biggrin

They probably wont get much wear before you need a bigger size, you could re sell them when he outgrows them and put that into buying the new pair each time.. might help offset the cost of new shoes.

You might look at FB groups online in your area.  We have tons that are just for kids.  I don't know if you could find any for Little Guy but you could probably sell a pair pretty easily there.  Also consignment shops too.

How about a bug of a different sort ...

DS has a cold. Any tips on relieving his runny nose and coughing?

We're waiting for a call back from his pediatrician on anything we can do to keep him comfy. Poor little man had/has the beginnings of an ear infection and is on meds for that but caught a cold on top of it.

A vaporizer? I keep one running during the winter months here. Even though we don't have "winter" it gets dry. Gosh, it's been so long since I had a baby I don't know. Ask your pediatrician what you can give him?

First, happy birthday!

For little man, use the saline spray and sucker. It works.

How old is he now? There are over the counter cold medicines that help. And Tylenol. Even if he isn't running a fever, he may have a headache or some other ache that comes from feeling bad.

And don't keep the room he is in too warm. It is easier to breathe if the room is a little cool.

Is a vaporizer better than a humidifier? Or are they the same thing?

A vaporizer creates a hot steam whereas a humidifier creates a cool mist.  I have a vaporizer.  I like that I can put a pre soaked Vicks pad in it and it wafts Vicks all over my bedroom.  Also, you can buy a Vicks plug in night light to put by his bed.  It doesn't have a mist.  It just disperses the Vicks stuff.  I have one of those.  Love it.
