What do you do when you have multiple kids that have to be at different places?  If one child has a game and another has an a different activity, do you split the duties?  How much all together family time do you try to impose?  Where would you draw lines?  Last night, my son had a playoff bball game.  They had a really poor season.  Most of the games weren't very good and they had less than a 500 record.  Going to playoffs is optional in our district.  Most teams do choose to go.  However, DD has just started her AAU travel league.  And, I have to travel out of town to take her to practices.  And, this is a pay to play league.  It isn't cheap and we have our first tourney coming up next weekend.  I have been harried with getting things nailed down at my new job and  the weather has been atrocious and I didn't know when my son was even going to play until Tuesday.  So, I took DD to her out of town practice but my son had a phenomenal game and I missed it so now I am bummed.  cry

Sometimes, you just have to split the duties. If we had two things going on with 2 kids, we'd each do one - it can't be helped if you have more than one child. You can't be everywhere for everyone all the time.

I know. And, DH went. I just wonder if maybe I should have blown off DD's practice. But, then again, this is important to her so I don't know.

When my mom was alive, she was a BIG help to me. And, she loved to take the kids to their practices and stuff. Now, it's just DH and I so seems like we are all running in different directions.

Generally speaking, I think games trump practices if you have another way to get her there with someone you trust.  But, if it was the first one, I would have gone, too.

OK. The joy of parenting is that no matter where you are or what you are doing, you still feel like you should be somewhere else doing something else!

Are you to the stage where the kids say the other sibling is your favorite because you go to their stuff but not hers/his?
Wait for it, wait for it..

You're a good mom gaga. Simply being concerned about it shows that you're a conscientious parent.

If this travel league is a step toward playing in college and getting scholarships then you go to those practices. Your daughter will need every one of them. And if she doesn't show commitment then that will affect her chases of being scouted. The coaches go a long way to making those things happen.

Sometimes you have to miss other things. Your son had some one there with him. So don't feel bad about it.
