Last night when I was coming home from work one of my downstairs neighbors asked if I could help her hang something up really quick. Not a big deal, but then she launched into "Can I tell you something" I said "sure" and OMG.
Background - Neighborlady lives in a studio apt, probably mid 40's, use to be hair dresser, got involved in drugs/drink and is now sober. But you can tell she's fried a few brain cells. Very sweet lady, kind of child like. Gets her feelings hurt really easy. He parents help her out a lot.
Next to her lives jerk neighbor guy who is loud, smokes dope and uses way to much incest. I've posted about him before.
So..
Neighborlady tells me that one night Jerk was drunk, lost his keys and asked her if he could borrow a tool to try to break in to his apartment. He couldn't get in and asked if he could crash on her floor. She said she went in the other room to change and when she came out to give him a blanket he had his junk out and forced himself on her. She said it wasn't rape because she ended up reciprocating.
But I think she doesn't want to admit what happened.
Give her the number for the rape crisis counseling line. There's no point in trying prosecute or anything.
And stay the hell away from that horrible man!
Tell her not to talk to him anymore either.
Other than jerk guy I I like the place. Everyone else has been super nice, but I just called my husband and told him we have to amp up the search. We are also going to see if we can squeeze enough cash together to buy something.
I am at the point hating to just walk in or out of my place. Get out before you get to that place. And please do not use Quicken Loans. They are a nightmare!
I think it is annoying to be around that sort of thing, but don't read too much into it. Living among aholes doesn't mean you are in imminent danger or anything like. So, I would make sure to take my time to find the place I want.

She's living in the same building as a rapist! I would be out of there pronto...

I'm afraid that if I push her to say it was rape and he found out it was me it could be an even worse situation. I just want out of there. I thought about telling the landlord, but then what will that do?
In California tenants have all the rights so its so hard to get rid of someone.

The neighbor said she consented. So, she might not have thought it a great idea initially but then she did. And, she is a Grown ass woman. She can call the police if she thinks there was really a problem. Drunk and stupid is all over the place. And my point is to not overreact and go from a bad to worse situation.

I wouldn't tell her to do anything. That's up to her. You just need to figure out what you need to do.

She consented after he exposed himself and forced himself on her. What happens when he exposes himself to Bonny and her child. What happens if he forces himself on HER?

He isn't going to because if his drunk ass is anywhere around she is going to call the Police. What do you want to her to do, go live in her car? I dont' think you should flame the situation into something it isn't. People have drunk sex everyday.

I'f effing kick is effing ass that's what would happen. Also, I would never, ever open the door to him. My personal policy is to not open the door when someone knocks and I'm home alone. No one should be popping by.

Yes. And he is probably laying around stoned most of the time so you can be on the look out. But, absolutely call the police at any hint of trouble.
It sounds to me like she consented right from the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if the make this a regular event.
"But I think she doesn't want to admit what happened."
I agree with this. He was drunk, she could have screamed or pushed him away; she probably could have just gone back into her bathroom and closed the door.
Sounds like two consenting adults to me. Especially since she orchestrated Round Two.

That's one thing we didn't allow - you cannot say you hate anyone in the family. You can say I don't like you right now, or you are making me upset. But anyone who said "I hate you" had to apologize and restate themselves.

WE don't allow that, either. No faster way to get in BIG trouble around here. My mother never allowed me to say it, I don't let my kids say it. And if I see the eye-rolling, that's big trouble, too.

If I had a dollar for everytime I said "don't you roll your eyes at my young lady!"
