Welcome to the craziness!  Have a wonderful Sunday.

I'm thinking about going on a healthy muffin baking binge.  Apricot honey?  Goat cheese and fig?  Both yummy.

When I took him out he was desperately looking for grass to eat but of course can't find any with all the snow.  I may make him some rice.

IKWTDS, I saw a headline yesterday that said this had been the warmest winter ever.

Guess you guys missed the memo?

One of DH's coaching buddies is driving through town on the way home from a recruiting trip. He needs a place to stay so DH offered him our spare room. Looks like I am cleaning today! Lol. The house needs it anyway, so it's no big deal. But you know men...bringing home work people without a lot of notice.

I slept in later than I wanted, but I was up late. The game when into overtime....and Butler lost :( it was a good game though, they really made ND work for it.

Today, I need to go into work and pack up my desk. I start a new position tomorrow. My company has hit a little rough patch. Our sales are not at a level to support everyone in the sales department, so I have been reassigned effective Monday.

DG, good luck with the new position! Sorry your company is in hard times, hope business picks up soon.
MM, nothing like cleaning on a Sunday. Glad you are good hearted enough to welcome an unexpected quest on such short notice.
Good morning everyone.
DH and I both have the head cold from hell, and the cough up a lung attacks. We are both miserable. Chicken noodle soup kind of day for us and a stay at home day. I went all winter without getting a cold and now this crud strikes. The flu was bad enough, but this stuff hangs on forever. no

Hope you all are having a much better weekend than I.

Thanks Czech. We are going to be fine, everything should be back to normal in a couple months. Our president just seems to overreact sometimes. That's really all this reassignment is.

DG, wish you well on your new position.

IKWTDS, hope doggie feels better, I'd not feed for about 8-12 hours, then back with boiled rice, and then add in plain chicken.

I am at work still trying to catch up, dealing with crap. We did a tee for a guy we'd only dealt with online. It was one shirt, ladies size small, black with a digital photo on it. DH sent him a proof, a link to the style we use that includes sizing charts. Instructed him to use size chart, since ladies sizes are very subjective.

Well, he picked up the shirt Friday (we rushed it for him). Saturday, DH gets a very angry email, that the shirt was supposed to be a V neck (no, we have all your emails, and your approval of the proof that showed a crew neck shirt). Then he rants that it was too small for his wife, and he was so angry, he took scissors and a razor blade and slashed it.
So, I guess the guy has a temper (and I am now feeling sorry for his wife), and his reaction was so over the top, it was worrisome. DH sends back a very calm email, attaching all the presales communication. We immediately refunded his CC.
He did admit that he was wrong about the style, but adamant about the shirt being unreasonably small.

Now, with some other incidents we encountered traveling recently, we have come to the conclusion that we will probably have to acquire a firearm and get a CCP. I have made it nearly 60 years without this, and it feels like a huge personal defeat for me...

Snowing here. The dog is sitting at the window barking at the snow as it falls. I can't even shush him, I feel like joining in.

Monster will bark at it too. But it's cause he wants out to play in it.

I really hope this is the last snow of the year for everyone.

JPT, get the gun and permit and post a notice on the door.

Pawpaw kept a gun in plain sight in his barber shop. Loaded and always within reach.

I'm pretty sure one of the reasons I got moved is because they know I will just take it in stride and not complain about it. Attitude is important

I was half kidding, half not kidding.  Some people love and embrace change and look at it like a new challenge.  Some people just don't feel comfortable with change.  Eventually we all have to adapt.  And yes, attitude makes a difference.  But I think a lot of it has to do with personalities.  People are different.

Not all change is good. And yes, even bad change can force you to grow. But I have definitely seen bad change in my lifetime.

I don't see it that way.

Of course change can be painful, hard, cause us to lose friendships or whatever.

But change is a part of life. Might as well make the best of it.

Well, I promise you that not all change is good. Death of family members is not good. But it happens. Yes, you deal. But I hate when people try to lie to me and feed me a line of bullschit that this is so good and it's going to make me grow as a person and blah blah blah. I'd rather someone just be honest with me. Like in DG's case. I'd rather my boss just come to me and say, "Here's the deal, the company is having a hard time and we don't want to lose you so we're going to move you here. I know you're happy where you are but it would really help me if you could do this for me." Not saying that's not what happened. I'm just saying that I hate these people that bounce around announcing we're all going to change and it's going to be the best possible thing for us all. Usually, in business, that means they're not actually changing at all. They're now dumping stuff on you.

That is pretty much what happened. Both my old boss and my new boss had conversations with me about why this is happening and honestly wanted to know my feelings. My new boss came to me because he wanted me to know he understand how frustrating this must be for me because it's basically a step backwards for me. He wanted me to know how excited he is to have me back in the department and he's looking forward to utilizing me. When the thought of moving people around was brought up, I was specifically requested by this department. That's a good feeling.

There are other people that are being moved and/or taking on extra duties. Within hours of them finding out, they were complaining about it. I'm trying very hard not to do that. Am I happy about it? No, not 100%. But this is what is needed of me for the good of the company. I will put a smile on my face and do my job like I have done every other day.

11 people no longer have a job. I remind myself I'm lucky I'm not one of them

I understand this.  And I completely agree with everything thing you said.  I'm hearing what you're saying.  But in our life my DH was one of the 11 left without a job.  And to listen to someone say ALL change is good I can tell you with complete honesty all change is not good.  He has been laid off for six months now.  It's not good.  It's change yes.  Have we grown as a couple?  We had no choice.  But the change is still not good.  And it's crap to hear someone say oh all change is good and you can get personal growth out of it.  No, some change is not good.  Period.

I'm glad that you still have a job.  Seriously.  That is not a snarky comment.  I'm also glad they requested you and were so considerate.  That shows you work for a caring boss/company.  I know when I used to do nursing though we would get these edicts from the CEO's of the hospitals saying how our "numbers" weren't good enough so they were cutting this or cutting that.  They had no idea what it was like to actually be on the "front line" or how their decisions affected patient care.  It was frustrating.

We had a "guest speaker" today at church. It was basically a sermon on tithing. I hate these sermons. This guy basically screamed at us for 30 minutes about it. Of all the times I have heard this type of sermon it was my least favorite. I know people are supposed to give but this guy was plain annoying.

I actually agree that all change is good. Eventually. We don't always see it right away, but the change is aways for the best. For example, I have been one of the ones left with out a job. Did I think that was good then? Nope, not at all. But a few years removed and in a place I am happier with, yes, it was good for me.

Well, I agree to disagree.  Again, you can still grow from change that is bad.  But I just don't agree that all change is good.  If your spouse dies that is not a good change no matter how you spin it.  There are a lot of things that we can grow from that are not good changes.

That dude has issues. He needs a psychiatrist!

We had a "guest speaker" today at church. It was basically a sermon on tithing. I hate these sermons. This guy basically screamed at us for 30 minutes about it. Of all the times I have heard this type of sermon it was my least favorite. I know people are supposed to give but this guy was plain annoying.

 I hate screamers.

And give your church 10% before you pay your light bill or buy food. It's good for you.

My old church had several anesthesiologists as members. If they tithed they alone could have supported the church.

I can agree to disagree. I have to do that with many people. I've had some pretty horrible things happen in my life. I have personally chosen to look at all of those as things that helped me become the person I am today. I must have faith that everything that happens has a specific reason and purpose. I am thankful each day for my faith because I can see how people can be consumed by their demon. It is by the grace if God I am not one of them.
