A fab Friday?

I need to break out the white frame sun glasses and sequined accessories!

I love that! I really do!

Good Friday everyone!

Storms expected late this afternoon. May try to make it to the zoo before it starts.

Need more sleep first.

God's blessings to everyone.

Hi all. Hope you all have a great Friday!

I am watching a friend's 3 year old today. So far so good! DD7 is still getting used to the idea that although he is a kid, he is barely out of the baby stage.

Gearing up for the big Easter egg hunt on the grounds of the school this weekend. People come from miles around to do it and last year we went out of town. This year, I helped bake goodies for the reception after and will be helping scatter the eggs the night before.

Tonight we are starting a dinner club with another couple. Every other week we will be either going out to dinner or cooking dinner at home and hosting. I am hoping to get another couple or two involved so we can make it a big darn deal. It's such a closed community here though, you risk people feeling left out and getting all offended if they aren't invited. We live with all DH's co-workers so when you do something socially with some of them, others can feel slighted. It's a delicate balance.

Have a great Friday everyone!

To me good Friday is sad and joyful at the same time. It's sad that Jesus had to die for us, but the fact that he did is beyond amazing and a real reason to celebrate.

Happy good Friday everyone!

I agree with Bonny...it was the day when Jesus was crucified, tortured and died. I doubt I'd call it "Good"

It's good because it was the day the veil was torn. The day we gained the gift of salvation. The day we no longer had to bring our sacrifices to another to buy our salvation.

Yes, the death of a loved one is sad.

But this death guaranteed us life.

It is Good.

Well, just as I predicted, Huey weighed in at 18.5 pounds!

I should probably change his name to Tanker Tush!biggrin

We got the Vet who understands about overweight cats, because he has one!

Other than being a little heavy, Huey is healthy. So, that's the important thing.smile

He is an indoor cat. I've never seen an indoor cat that wasn't fat.

As long as he is healthy, then he is fine.

It might all be gone from the yard by Easter.

Yay, Blankie! I hope it's all gone by Sunday!

My son Paul just applied for a summer internship at the Fort Worth Zoo. He'd be a Bird intern! (How geeky is that!)wink

Fingers crossed, I hope he gets it.

I think he'd really enjoy it! He's into bird watching. And, as a Biology major, I think it would give him good experience.

An internship that actually pays money though? Shoot - DD did 4 internships and never got a cent! And one of the companies she interned for ended up using one of her designs and it sold really well! She got zero! He is lucky!

Internships in creative fields don't pay. Period. Too much competition for the jobs. If you wont do it for free, someone else will.

When she worked (interned) at Kleinfeld's (bridal salon from Say Yes to the Dress) they gave them a subway pass, a bus voucher and bought them dinner at a fancy restaurant. That's it. But it's more than she got anywhere else.
