Gotta bite the bullet and get glasses.

I have had glasses since high school. But my eyes got better for a while and I didn't need them. So it was maybe 10 years I didn't wear them.

Then I got new ones around 2004. They broke about 5 years ago.

I was good for a long time. I mainly needed them for reading and driving at night.

Well. Old age is creeping in. And I realized I keep zooming in my computer screan. If this keeps on a will have to scroll to read two letter words.

Not that bad yet.

Going to try Americas Best. No vision coverage so I have to take what I can.

Anyone ever use them?

Been a while but yes. Good for basic exams. I have bad eyes and need an ophthalmologist not an optician.

Good. Thanks.

I am going to make an appointment tomorrow. Try to get in after getting tires.

I wore glasses since the time I was 8 until 10 years ago when I had lasik. Over the past couple of years I have needed the cheapies for reading. I had an eye appointment last fall and do have a written prescription, the doctor said when the cheapies no longer do the job to get glasses. I think I will do that very soon since I have vision insurance but while I have my current job.

That's the last place I got glasses.  I have insurance but DD doesn't. They will try to up sell you of course. The glasses are fine. Lots of frames to choose from if you do the package deal.

I didn't get glasses until 6th grade. My maiden name started with a "B," nuns always made us sit in alphabetical order, and I guess I thought everyone saw the way I did.

I got contacts in high school (hard lenses), then needed bi-focals in my 50's.

I think my Lasik was 5 years ago, and, if I need any adjustments, they will do it for free. Yes, cheapies for close-up work, too.

I have noticed a marked decline in my eye sight in the last year. Really bad since around Christmas.

When I had to get one of the kids read sometime from a bottle to me, I knew it was time.

I'm great at not falling for the upsell.

I am hoping I can get one of the two pair tinted for sunglasses. I will pay a little more for that.

Oh, and even if you get your basic glasses there, get a written script with your pupilary distance. Get your sunglasses from Zenni Optical. They start at $6.95 for their glasses. Last year, I got 2 pairs of regular glasses (with special thinner lenses), 3 pairs of sunglasses (very dark tint), and 4-5 clip-on sunglasses for less than $100.

ETA Zenni is online at zennioptical.com
