Busy day, Dog has his annual check up this morning, then DD has a bday party and this afternoon I have to get the dog to the groomers. All good stuff! I do need to clean the house and do laundry. I want to steam clean the living room furniture. I may do that while the dog is at the groomers.

Good morning, people. Today is going to be rough for me. I didn't fall asleep until sometime after 4, then I had a dream about how tired I was! Ugh.
Scarborough Faire, tomorrow though. Looking forward to that.

Two finals to complete today. HVAC systems are being serviced as we type. Bleeding the lines first, then service the AC so it's ready to go when the weather gets hotter.

Then I will head out shopping to get a few last minute things for our Lodge trip to DC, Arlington National Cemetery this weekend. On Sunday, we will be part of a ceremony where we lay about 65 wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for every state, territory and Canadian province.

I have a bird who built a nest in the wreath on my front door. The female laid 6 eggs, and her mate sits on top the wreath and pecks at the front door. The door is glass, so I guess he sees his reflection.

That'll be awesome for the boys to see.

I'm kinda jealous. LOL.

We usually get nests in our hanging baskets and on the light by the front door.  This year, I have deterred the front door light one by putting a plastic snake there.  We have not hung any flower baskets yet but I will out in plastic snakes there too.

We had a nest a few years ago in one of our azalea bushes but the boys were too young to remember. The only reason I've left the nest is for the boys. That and there are eggs. I can't bring myself to disrupt that.

I haven't named mine yet. Still trying to figure out what kinds they are. Mom looks like a sparrow, but dad is red, not a cardinal. #1 and I see the eggs as yellow with spots, although my father saw the eggs as being light blue. It's like that whole "what color is the dress" thing, apparently.

And, pictures would be great! wink

I've been running around like a manic!

Not much internet time this week. If you know what I mean.

We bought a really good bird book years ago but I really have no idea where to begin as far as searching their identities.

I usually get a nest or two built on the support for my deck. One side of my deck is a full story high so critters can't get at the nest.

The dog lost two pounds this past year! Vet said he looks great and he has no issues. All tests are negative.

Can I give you a little tip?smile

Go to this link: http://ebird.org/ebird/places  Enter your state. And you will get the list, of all the birds common to your area!

It's a good starting point.

Edited to fix. Not zip code. State.

I'm having a few good chuckles this morning, flan!

I'm enjoying myself!wink

And, one last tip, for FNW. (I promise, last tip of the day. I don't want you to have to throw a high heel at me, to get me to stop!)wink

A lot of big cities have a local chapter of the Audubon Society. (Fort Worth has one.)

Check and see if you've got one. You can get a field checklist for each season, and print it off.

We've done that, too. So, we know what birds to be looking for.

(Here's the link to ours. I hope this works.   http://www.fwas.org/pdfs/Tarrant_Bird_Occurrence_Checklist_2012.pdf

One final down, two to go. Got a 90 out of 100. Social Policy and Ethics Should have been a 98 but why should I say anything to the professor? She did nothing on the last class this happen and I still have to have her for four more classes. I passed and never have to take that class again.

Assessment and Documentation up next. Can't do the Psych of Aging until midnight so it will have to wait until tomorrow. Abnormal Psych does not have a final.

It's a beautiful day.

Our birds had different names. Stupid, stinking, dang. Which ever popped out when you went in the washroom and it flipped out.

We only have 15 school days left this year.

Vacation is planned. Going to Myrtle Beach the 24th of this month. Looking forward to a change of scenery.
