Cloudy and humid in North Texas. More storms in the forecast.

I'm going to get a couple of chores done, and head out for my walk.

I hope your grandmother gets out of the hospital today Lily. Holding a good thought!

Looks like Oklahoma City got pounded last night. No deaths. That's a miracle!

We are headed to 86 this afternoon.

Flan, you are have a Southern Spring.

Here, Spring and Fall last about 2 maybe 3 weeks at most.

Thanks FWM. It will depend on her blood count and drop time.

It feels like it does that here. But we still have Temps in the 30s and 40s at night for a while.

I was having a pretty good morning. Geeking around. Drinking my iced coffee.

I decided to pooper scoop the yard, before it decided to rain, good thing too. It just started raining!cry

Guess what I found in the yard?cry

Okay, I'm good to put that out of my mind, and get on with my day.wink

#1 had a sore throat and wanted to stay home. So I called in sick. Then he went to the bathroom and made a miraculous recovery and insisted he go to school. So I sent him and let his teacher he was coming after all. Now she just told me the girl who sits next to #1 had strep this week....

I rented that for DH and turned out I loved it just as much.  I am a movie wh0re.  Yes I am.  I admit it.  Over the last two days I have watched six movies.  I should be a movie critic.  I was sorely disappointed in Selma.

My vet won't allow us to take the dogs to the dog park.  He says they're like daycare for kids.  If there's a disease or something to catch that is the place your dog will pick it up.  He said it's the most germy foul place for a dog to roam.  I was kind of shocked by this but I do suppose this makes sense.

Believe me, I love movies...it's just that sometimes my attention span sucks...LOL

Look! Something SHINY!!!

DS1 went to see Selma in the theatre.

I promised MM I would start Season 4 of Game of Thrones next.

Selma was good but slow.  Very slow.  And probably in the theater it would have been okay.  But with my hearing loss I had a hard time picking up some of the dialogue.  I am really disappointed too because SS is very into the civil rights movement right now.  We even would have been okay with the violence in it because I think he needs to know that this was truly a part of what happened.  BUT, I don't think he has the attention span for that movie.

We put on A Time To Kill with Matthew McWhatever (I can never spell his name) and Sandra Bullock.  It's about these two white men who rape a ten year old black girl and torture her and leave her for dead.  Then her father shoots the two men and goes on trial for murder.  We let him watch that but he got so bored.  I think all the technical stuff was just above him.  He kept asking us what was going on.  It's kind of frustrating to watch a movie if you have to explain what is going on to the other person during the entire movie.

I found some fabric that I liked! If I'm feeling motivated after dinner, I might break out my sewing machine and sew a shade for the patio door.smile

Is your patio door a slider? I am at a loss as how to cover mine. I don't care for those vertical blinds that were popular in the 1980's, but wish I had something to provide privacy at night. There really isn't room at the end for drapes, as the wall space is only a couple inches.

Thankfully, no! Just a regular door, with a long window inset.

Have you thought of a Roman shade for it, FNW?

Have you looked at the Luminette by Hunter Douglas?  They are vertical blinds but all connected with sheer fabric so when you close them they look like curtains.  They are pricey but I loved mine.  I'd still have them if S's younger son hadn't taken a header into them & ripped them off the wall.

Busy day! Work has been fun, my phone has been down since Tuesday. Guy was here this afternoon to repair.

I had to leave for a bit to meet with my advisor for school to plan out for a December graduation. Seems I will be a little busier this summer with a total of six classes, three for each session. We are going to try to swap a few classes I took at CC#1 for some of the core requirements at CC#2. That means that two classes would be covered. I will have just two classes and my practicum in the Fall.

Grumble.

Water is backing up into the lowest drain in the house, the laundry room wash tub.

The last time this happened the drain guy snaked out the pipe to the street, which gets blocked by tree roots.

The tree has been gone for years, but the roots get water and fertilizer from the pipe, and just keep growing into the pipe.

I called the guy, I'm waiting for him to call me back.

Have to minimize water use until he takes care of this. cry

Well, I've had a nice day. I did errands and all went well. Then I finished up by going to the grocery store. They had all their rib eyes clearanced half price. I got a two inch thick huge rib eye that was originally $20 for only $11. They had six that were just like it. I bought them all! DH is happy. He told me to buy myself some flowers so I did. On the way home from the store DN called and asked me if I wanted to go out to eat. Her treat for Mother's Day. I said sure. We went to Chipotle. Her first time there. Then we walked around World Market and Five Below for awhile. We talked about her life and her values and how much she loved me and how important I was in her life. So I teared up a little. We celebrated that by going to Baskin Robbins and had ice cream. She got this really good ice cream with potato chip pieces in it. We laughed and talked and shared our ice cream with each other.

Sunday the kids will all be here to have steaks, potatoes, and asparagus.

Ugh. Will this heartburn ever end? 2x Zantac 150, 2 shots of liquid gaviscon, 1x Pepcid AC and I still worry that I might throw up. This sucks. This is doctor appointment territory.
