So DS1 sent me a few photos from Saturday (DS2 & Itty bitty went to visit). I can't open them on my laptop...SO I figured out that I could open them on my PHONE.
Morning! Day two. Sand will be between my toes by lunch.
Happy Memorial day.
Have a great day ya'll.

Today is the day that complete strangers come to my house. Still not thrilled but dealing. Mom and companion are out to breakfast and shopping so the house is quiet so far. I expect them to be back any moment and that to change.
DH needs to get together with neighbor to get the dirt to finish the garden. I am ready to finish planting when that happens.
I think I will take it a little easy regarding school today. I already feel behind but know I will be able to accomplish little today with Mom still here. No more visits when school is in session. I just can't do both.
hope everyone pauses for a moment today and remembers--and gives thanks for those who sacrificed their all for us--those who died and those who survived and walk among us yet

Weird morning for me. I had another dream about being back with my ex. I was with him, but only pretending to keep him calm until I could get away. I didn't recognize the other people in this dream. So different players, but same basic concept as the others.
Also, for some reason, I get a little panicky on some holidays. I worry that its not a work holiday and I'm really missing work. I'm a total spaz sometimes.

this is going to sound odd, but its not raining, it was supposed to rain, I was looking forward to the rain. If it had rained, I could stay inside and play with my new computer all day. but instead, its nice and sunny, so I have to go clean the pool. boo!
I successfully made an Oreo Cheesecake last night. I did not miss group. It is tomorrow so I will be making another one tonight. We have ribs slow cooking in crock pot. DH is going to throw them and the precooked brisket on the grill before dinner. I'm making home made au gratin potatoes. Kids are still fighting. Have a ton to do.

Looks like the rain has temporarily stopped here. I would love to get the dog to the nature center for a nice walk. He is a bit stir crazy.
I made a bunch of food yesterday so I don't have to cook today.
DD is taking her 2 toughest finals today - anatomy and history. They are comprehensive, so it's a whole year's worth of knowledge crammed into one test. The kids take their finals at the same time in the dining hall (just like Harry Potter!)
I need to clean up the house, do more laundry, and cuddle with the puppy some more.

My dad has decided to take a nap. I got changed and came up to help him outside, and he's asleep. I had plans of nothingness I could be doing. I know as soon as I go downstairs he'll wake up. Sigh.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Good day geeks! I hope everyone had a great and productive holiday weekend. lol.... ok..not necessarily productive.. Spent the weekend cooking out, mulching, enjoying 2 Cav's victories... one game away from the Finals! and......... planting! Went out and got flowers for all of my containers and created a few works of art! I think they turned out fabulously.
Yep. We're getting more rain today. SOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of it.

My house is nearly organized! I have a real living room now and just need to finish unpacking everything else that doesn't really fit and finding it homes. Finally cleaning out my storage unit has given me lots to do at home!

good for you Tig! I gotta say, I'm jealous. I still live among boxes and stacks

I had a burst of inspiration it would seem. For nearly a year it's been like my apartment was only where I slept and stored my stuff. It's different putting it out - I feel like I might stay put a while this time!

my problem is I really don't have room to put out my stuff. Cleaning is really more an exercise of just moving stuff from one place to another. So, a small part of my basement will be clean at any given time, and the rest is a mess
Cars have washed off the road. Several trucks are buried under water. They've had to rescue people. One neighborhood is completely flooded out. We are under a flash flood warning and a tornado watch. It's seriously bad here.

We have to take SS home. I really don't want to go out. Our front and back yards are totally flooded. Police are asking people not to go out and if you get stuck to stay where you're at. The fire department is out rescuing people.
Just a couple shots.
