What current movies do you recommend?

Old movies? New movies? Any kind of movie talk.

Has anybody seen Tomorrowland? Is it worth it?

I just love looking at the Clooneymeister, what can I say?

I heard it was HIORRIBLE.  It's a bust. Only 40 million opening weekend (Memorial Day at that).  It was 190 million to make.

Still Alice is a great movie that just came out on Redbox. There are more. DH calls me a movie whore so if there's a movie out I've probably seen it. I love movies. I should have gotten a job as a movie reviewer.

I have to see that. One review I saw called it her best acting ever. And also because my dad has Alzheimer's.

Still Alice is about a woman with early onset Alzheimers. It's brilliantly done. It's painful to watch. Alec Baldwin plays her husband and he's an ass in the movie too. There's a lot of family dynamics that go on. I really liked that part. It's an honest and well done movie.

I watched it twice.  Once alone and once with DH.  I caught a lot of stuff the second time around.  Excellent movie.  Well worth the watch.

We have a really good one coming out in October.  Not like the cheesy ones we've put out before.  It's called Woodlawn.  It's amazing!!!!!

Last night we watched the new J-Lo movie The Boy Next Door. It was good but predictable. Nothing to write home about.

I watched Selma. I was so excited to watch it because SS is asking a lot of questions about the civil rights movement. It was so freaking boring. They did not do that movie any good. DN said the same thing.

I like the movies your company puts out except for the fact that they make everything end up happily ever after all the time.  That irritates me.  The reason why is the message is if you just pray hard enough you'll get every single thing you want.  That doesn't always happen.

Whiplash --- EXCELLENT

St. Vincent -- Funny, serious, just loved it.

Interstellar -- Long but so worth it.

The Cobbler with Adam Sandler was a really cute movie. We let SS watch it. It's fun and light hearted.

OMG If you're looking for a true life story that goes through every emotion watch Spare Parts. It's got George Lopez, Marrissa Tomeii, and Jamie Lee Curtis. It's about some underprivileged high school students. It's moving.

I hated Whiplash. Hated hated hated it. Not worth the buck and a half we used to rent it. That man should be sent to prison. He made me sick. He's scum. Nasty scum. Want me to go on?

And I watched Pitch Perfect and never understood the appeal behind it.

I watched a movie on Redbox that's now on Netflix called You're not You. It's about a lady with MS. It's a great movie. Really touching. Hillary Swank is in it.

Hated it.  That man should have had an accident with a bus.  As in the bus ran over him.

I really want to see the Poltergeist remake. I've watched a trailer and it seems like it's a good remake.

I also want to see Furious 7.

I think Tomorrowland will have a slow build. Probably do well in after theater sales.

I really didn't get Pitch Perfect. It was cute and funny but nothing really great. I loved Fat Amy though. I loved her the way I love Melissa McCarthy. I'm so glad to see Hollywood accepting some non traditional size two actresses. I think this is a great message we're sending our daughters.

we've got a pretty extensive collection of old black & whites--watched two of them this past weekend:

" The Young Lions " with brando, martin and montgomery clift--a classic WWII film from that era

" Anatomy of a Murder " with Jimmy Stewart, Lee Remick and Ben Gazarra--one of Preminger's film noir classics

There's a few movies that I really love that I could watch over and over again if i happen upon them. Slingblade. Billy Bob Thorton's acting is amazing in that movie. You will fall in love with him and the boy. Shawshank Redemption. Revenge is sweet! Fargo. Um... when everything can possibly go wrong when you are committing a crime, this is it! Dark, but hilarious. Oh... and for one of the best romantic comedies of all time... Overboard. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. Adorable! Love that one!
