I have to mow the lawn. With the rain and then sun this week the grass is long and thick. Interviewing a babysitter today for the summer. DD doesn't want to go to the Rec Dept's camp this year. With starting a new job, having a babysitter and thus not a strict drop off/pick up schedule will help with my acclimation to my new schedule. Then DD has softball later today. Busy, busy.

I need to get gas before we can mow. Always lots to do on the weekends. I guess I should consider going to zumba too.

Saturday! Sleep in day! Well, it would be if DH wasn't snoring away.

Today is finish all the little things day that did not get done this week, Steam mop the floors, and only one load of laundry. I still have a bunch of succulents that need to be planted. I still have that paper to finish on how to interview which is not difficult but annoying.

I need to do some food shopping. I may try to go to the Asian grocery store. They have nice fresh produce and a large, different selection.

My first day off in 24 days! I was going to try to stick it out the whole month but it's such a great day to go to the lake.

Yes, a walk would be nice.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Hauled more dirt and mulch.

Watched a little tennis.

Have to play chase car for Mere and Wayne in a bit.

We'll probably snag lunch out.

And maybe pick up something for the grill, for dinner.

Have a great Saturday, everyone.smile

Just got two huge pots of tomato sauce done - letting them cool before I pack them for the freezer. Man those tomatoes are coming on strong! With all the rain, and then nice hot sun, I'll be busy making sauce/spaghetti sauce for the next couple of weeks! Bounty! :)

Lawn is done! Deck cleaned! Showered! Babysitter interviewed! Heating up last night's doggie bag for lunch, scallops and two huge onion rings. Yum. The babysitter is so going to work out. She is a freshman in HS, lives 8 houses from us and her dog is Sonny's GF. Her mom is around most days to so if they need anything, her mom will fill in. There are only two weeks she cannot watch DD. That is fine, easy to fill in those two weeks.

I am contemplating going grocery shopping before DD's softball game, but am quickly getting lazy.

Back from the vet. Carlee was four pounds overweight. But healthy. Hemi has glaucoma which has reduced his eyesight. He also had an ear infection. He has some hearing loss. He has an infected spot on his nose. We thought it was just a little spot he had rubbed raw but it turns out it's infected. He also has a bad tooth that needs to come out but the vet is not sure he'll make it through the surgery now that he is 14. We're going to look at options with the vet once the other stuff is cleared up.

I put off doing the dishes from yesterday's turkey dinner until this morning. I have done those, the pots and pans, 4 loads of laundry, took the dog for a walk and cleaned up the spare room. We will have a houseguest for a few weeks - one of the players is staying to help with the summer camps. She has a pretty bleak home life and we try and take her in whenever we can.

Got a call from the owner of the house we want to rent. If he doesn't hear back from us by Monday he is giving it to someone else. The administration needs to get their **** together and get us an answer. If we lose this house, there isn't anything else available in this town that isn't section 8. This house wasn't even on the market, we heard about it from someone. Urgh!!

Well, I don't like big dogs but I bet DD would come do it! She loves pits and she is a runner too. She could exercise them for you, probably even tire them out.

The school wants us to move out so they can give the place to a new family coming in. The place has some problems and we don't mind leaving it.  Most people with my DH's job title live off campus, so they want us to move off campus as well. Which is fine, but they are dragging their feet.

The real problem is they have 35 new families moving in and not enough room for them all. They are playing musical chairs and there aren't enough chairs.

Still, I wouldn't budge an inch till they got you what you want.

Good luck with that.

We did Baby A's first birthday pictures today. She was such a little stinker, we got some cute shots, but we had to really work for them. She would not sit still and would not give up smiles for anything. Also, she doesn't like cake, we tried to do some pictures of her eating it, but she wanted nothing to do with it.

Also, got DD signed up for dance next fall. She is doing ballet/tap and hip hop next year- I hope she likes it, because we wont be able to afford food for a while..

I discovered a new series:

Continuum

It's a sci fi story about a cop from 2077 who gets sent back to 2012, along with a group of dangerous criminals.

That sounds like a good series to watch.  My kitchen is torn up, pots and pans, dishes and other kitchen stuff all over the place. Can't wait till it is all done. Good news I can't cook so we are going out to dinner tonite.

I would love to walk the coast but that would require a 1 hour drive.  Not up for that.

And I will be exhausted from just doing all her laundry for these excursions.

Went out for lunch. I really love restaurants (not McD's) that have play areas for kids. DS can have fun and DH and I can relax. I wish said restaurants would have diaper changing stations but some don't. I guess they don't expect babies and toddlers to patronize their restaurant. DH and I have started a list of restaurants with play areas and whether or not they have diaper changing stations.

I guess things have really changed.

When my kids were babies, changing table were a band new thing. Very few and very, very far between.

I never liked using them. They always seemed nasty to me.

And McDonald's was awesome when they were little.

Especially when traveling.

I'd let them run and play while I ate. And take their stuff in the car.

They got their energy out, would then eat and go to sleep.
