I'm thinking with today's society these things are a thing of the past.  I'm thinking we, as a society, need to rethink this.  Maybe we shouldn't issue them until 21 so people can find out who they are and THEN fill out their birth certificate?  Or maybe if you're not sure you can write in invisible ink?  Maybe pencil your answers in and then file it under pending until you decide for sure?  I really think I'm onto something here!

I'm confused NJN. Do you mean filling in the gender? Letting them decide if they are male or female?

As soon as it's filled out, whether in pencil or disappearing ink,

SOMEONE is going to photo copy or scan it. Then it's permanent.

 

I have known some parents who wished their names could be erased from their kids' birth certificates.

Yeah, this joke is getting old and tired. I really do not like the discussion that people seriously have about this stuff. It's disheartening, I don't find it funny, I find it scary.
