OK.  I enjoy home remodeling.  I like Tools!  However, seems like I can only figure things out to a point.  I usually can get a job done for the most part, but then can't seem to figure out the nagging details or have the finesse to do things so they come out like the Pros.  This weekend, I decided to replace the vanity top and sink in my kids bathroom.  So, I watched youtube.  Seemed simple.  I disconnected the plumbing, then unscrewed the existing vanity, then used a scraper and tapped in between to break the seal and lift off the vanity and keep the wooden vanity intact.  No problem!  Then, DD and I patched and repair the walls and put on 2 coats of paint that look great.  Then I went to Lowe's and bought a new top.  Of course the one I wanted wasn't in stock, so I ended up driving to another store an hour and a half away to get that thing.  Wasn't a wasted trip cuz we found a KFC.  So, got a new faucet and then I watched youtube and attached the faucet to the new vanity.  That seemed to go OK.  Thought, I might as well put new PVC plumbing P trap in too.  Sooo, got to the finally stage and went to attach the vanity and of course the vanity is too close to the wall and I now need to unscrew the damn thing and cut new openings in the back for the plumbing.  AND, we could not get the damn P trap attached so it doesn't leak.  Hello Mr. Plumber is here now, lol.

Yep. Sometimes it's just better to hire someone. I have a great plumber. He's independent and charges half what all the big businesses do.

Yes, but I like to learn how to do things. So, now, I at least know how to replace a faucet. I think I could easily put in a new one if I wanted on in the kitchen or bathroom. That is fairly straightforward. And, if I don't try, I never really know what I am capable of.

Hubby hasn't installed a P trap yet that doesn't leak. And he gets pissy when I call a plumber to fix it...
