It's late and I'm trying to unwind.  I should be accomplishing something and I'm not.  It's bugging me.  Sigh.

It's about that time here. But in the am. I'm seriously thinking about this nose I made. DH referred to it as a rather large penis. SS said it was rough. If I can get DH to keep quiet maybe bandaids will make the nose part smooth...

It's paper mache, right? If so, you should be able to use sandpaper and smooth it out. A layer or two of single ply toilet paper can give a smoother appearance as well.

Flan, how is your DH doing today? Aside from needing a maid (I would love one too!), how are YOU doing today?

I am about to take out the trash, get dressed & head to the hospital.

I talked to him last night & he was going to try walking.

Thanks.

Today is my Friday. I have made it my whole first week at the new office. So far, so good! It's been an easy week, as I get the feel for how things are run around here. I had heard some stories about the boss and him being an ass at times, but so far, he has been nothing but nice! As a bonus, the weather and river conditions are supposed to remain favorable this weekend, so we may finally get to go on our camping and float trip! I am pretty excited about that! Now if I could get this headache back down to a dull roar, I'd be golden!

I hope his recovery is quick and he remains pain free after! Be sure you are resting and taking it easy when you can, Flan. Stress and caregiving can take a lot out of a person.

Good thoughts for a speedy recovery, flan.

When will he get to come home?

My throat feels better today, but I think I'm coming down with a head cold.

I'm going to do a bit of cleaning and gardening today.

Nothing too strenuous. wink

Have a good Thursday, everyone.smile

This new house might be good for our health. I have to get up every morning and walk the dog first thing, can't just let her out since we don't have a fence. So, that's the first thing I do! And DH walks her every night - the kids walk her twice during the day. She has gone from about one walk a day to 4. Also - we discovered the nieghbor at the old house was bringing her table scraps while we were at work. She's losing weight and it's making her hips better.

Good Day All! Beautiful day! upper 80s with low humidity. Almost had to put on a jacket this morning, it was 64.

Work day today. Hopefully Bossman will remain quiet so I can work on school work. I have one project I need to get done today and submit by midnight. Dinner is at MILs, I think she is cooking which means I am cooking whatever it is she bought.

Hives are gone and just a few small spots remain. Steroids suck tho. Still have a headache from them.

Hey ya'll!

My boys had an all night game session. They rarely do that. I don't mind. It's good bonding time for them.

But they didn't go to sleep till around 8 this morning.

There has been a shooting in Chattanooga at a recruiting office. 4 marines and an officer were shot.

Another shooting at Chat State.

Gun man is at large.

Police are armed with assault riffles looking with for this shooter.

A lot of places on lock down right now.

They just said the shooter is dead.

Some of the lock downs are lifting.

Apparently there was another possible shooting in Cleveland. But that turned out to be not true.

It was kind of funny.

The reporter at the mall in Cleveland closed his coverage with "reporting from Bradley Mall where there was NOT a shooting".

With all the other reports, that just struck me as funny.

Your dog has a hip problem? Have you tried glucosamine?  The dog owners I know swear by it.

I feel like a total wench saying this but SO's son has been getting super clingy lately and I'm having a hard time dealing with it. I've tried to kind of ask him if things are going okay and all that just to see if anything is different but it doesn't seem to be.

Yes.  She takes glucosamine supplements everyday.  But she's 14 - they are not working as well as they used to.

Our Vet just started Hemi on Glucosamine.  He's 14 and has arthritis.

Thanks, Czech! You are too sweet! My headaches disappeared briefly after the last series of injections, and pt. It came back as a constant dull pain that sometimes spike up as either sharp stabbing pains, or intense burning pains. I've learned to live with it, for the most part. Definitely not going to let them bring me down or wreck my plans, that's for sure!

How have you been?

Ah.  Hemi hurt his leg when he was a pup.  We rushed him to the animal ER and got it fixed but now that he's older that leg gives him a lot of trouble.  He's 14.  He's starting to lose his eye sight and hearing.  The vet said he had the beginning of cataracts.  I hope that he doesn't ever have to suffer.

I need some advice on a situation with him though.  Maybe I'll start a thread.

Ah. I've noticed that bigger dogs are far more prone to hip issues, earlier.  My sister is a big Dobie fan, but has to put them down, usually at the age of around 12, because they can't walk anymore, and have to be carried everywhere. It's a shame.

We just moved, and our family room is in the basement which is finished with laminate.  She could not get up by herself, anymore, because is was slick - so I went and bought a big rug to cover most of the family room floor.  Then I had to convince her laying on the rug was better than the floor b/c she could get up by herself with the grip of the rug.  She's got it now.

Wow...what an afternoon...

My ex-husbands sister (I knew her before I knew him) called me a little while ago. I haven't talked to her in a couple of years. She went off the deep end partying a few years ago and never quite got straight.

Anyway, they have 3 kids, 21, 17, & 14. When they divorced, he got 100% custody of the kids. She's been in jail a few times for failure to pay child support. He's a very dominant and controlling person, and has brainwashed the kids. They no longer speak to any of her side of the family. They were pretty much devoted to him and him alone.

Well, the past couple of days, he had called out of work with a stomach virus. Today, he did the same. His 17 year old son came home on his break to check on his dad and found him dead. The 14 year old was in the next room. They are ABSOLUTELY devastated. The 14 year old is in the hospital right now being sedated. The 17 year old will not speak and barely moves....

Y'all say a prayer for these kids, please... I don't know what is going to happen to them.
