Have you noticed they become charicatures of what they think women are?

This was almost exactly the post I stole from someone and posted the other day. On the thread that turned into a nightmare. Bruce/Caitlin has no idea what a real woman is.

What, so famales that don't give birth, or never even become pregnant, not women?
Females that are physically tall and strong and don't feel threatened when a guy stops to help change a tire, not women?
Females that don't have horrible periods, not women?

This woman is a loon, and I for one don't care one jot if Caitlin Jenner is a woman or not, but to make a bunch of BS requirements about what defines a woman is just a lousy move, especially when there are heaps of women--yes, WOMEN-- that would never match up to her definition.

The point is that being a woman is a hell of a lot more than changing your appearance.

And Bruce Jenner grew up a privileged white man, a celebrated athlete, and had all the advantages of what that meant.  He has no idea what being a woman really means.

Ah, I see.
So women that dye their hair, get boob jobs, or any kind of plastic surgery, not women at all.

No, sorry, Caitlin Jenner aside, this woman sounds like a total b!tch.

Those women still grew up women, with everything that goes along with it - good and bad.  You can't wake up one day, put on a dress and boobs and be a woman.  Those fake boobs?  It's because they weren't happy with the ways theirs developed, they experienced pain over it during their teen years, they watched and hoped they would grow bigger while their friends around them did.
They get plastic surgery because of self esteem issues related to either being treated like a piece of ass and becoming past their prime, or because so much was invested in their appearance throughout their life, they can't handle watching the aging process in the mirror.

All of that is because of the complexities of growing up as girls and women.

I am not outwardly feminine. 99% of what I do in a day, not girly. I am taller and stronger than a lot of guys I know.
But being female is never something I have questioned. It is there and part of my, and it is not dependent on what I do or how I look.
If Caitlin Jenner has been identifying as female her whole life, yet has been outwardly male, then by all means, chamge the outside to match the inside and embrace it. I can not imagine my body not matching my heart.

But you still grew up a girl.  And you are a younger one - you didn't have many of the issues older women Bruce's age would have had.  So, while he may claim to have felt like a woman inside, he wasn't facing the difficulties the women around him did.  He got all the perks of being a man.  He CAN'T identify as a woman because a woman is about a hell of a lot more.  And changing his appearance doesn't change that.

And you know what? You can scoff about the motherhood thing. But either you will choose to have kids or you won't. But either way, you'll still have to worry about either getting pregnant or not getting pregnant. You will be questioned about your choices. You may get pregnant accidentally and you may lose the child. Those concerns are FEMALE, and apply to all women - even if they don't want a family.

I don't care how tall and strong you are.  In hand to hand combat, almost every man can over power every women.  If you want to pretend that biology is irrelevant, you may.

It is really doubtful any man has had to tense up and fear when walking past a group of women at night. But women feel that fear instinctively when they are walking past a group of men alone, even when the men bear no ill will. There are things that are related to women only.

Yes, exactly. I consider myself a "strong woman". I can use power tools, I am not afraid of doing man work at all or anything like that. I can take care of myself. But, we live where there are a lot of Rails to Trails. DD and I enjoy going hiking , biking. But, going out on those trails gives me pause. There are risks as a female to do so. I carry a knife with me, but I am thinking of getting a handgun. You don't know what kind of people could be out there hiking. I have been out there alone and then passed a lone guy and it does make you think that maybe you are in danger.

He is not a woman. He can want it, wish it, dress it, whatever. He is not a woman and never will be.

Femininity doesn't make a woman. Two X chromosomes do.

How anyone born a male can transform himself into a female is beyond me. He can change the outside all he wants, that doesn't make him a female in the inside.

It is not possible for him to be a true female, ever.

He's nuts IMHO.

What people keep forgetting is that he is NOT going to have his penis removed. He says he likes having sex with women so he is keeping his penis.

Soooooo ... he's a lesbian. Or wants to be.

I fail to understand what the point is of claiming to identify as a woman but wanting to keep one's genitals as is. He should just call himself a crossdresser and be done with it.

Does a white person know what it is to grow up black?

Does a person growing up in America know what it is like to grow up in the Gaza strip?

A man does not know what it is like to grow a girl.

And a woman does not know what it is like to grow up a boy.

And there is more about being a woman. More than looks, or motherhood or cramps.

On a side note, thankfully I have never felt nervous or fearful when around men.

He said he enjoys having sex with women. So he is keeping his penis. Best of both worlds? News flash, women don't have penises. Even the ones women that want to have sex with other women don't have penises. Bruce wants to look, act, and be treated like a woman while keeping his penis. Sorry, I have no respect for him.

Why does being a woman need to be tied so strongly to fear and pain and worry? My god, read what some of you have written!

I don't care if Caitlin Jenner is a woman or not. It has zero impact on basically anyone.

But this womans depiction of womanhood, and all the conditions she puts on being a real woman are stupid.

Well, I didn't find the cramps to be that big of a deal. For me, I didn't have a lot of problems with that. It was a minor inconvenience.

What about "Jazz"? Have you seen that on TLC? The parents started transitioning him to her at a young age. She is now a teen and has been taking hormone treatments and developing breasts. Does it count if you start earlier?

But, do Bruce's boy parts work? I mean wouldnt' female hormone treatments put a damper on that or something?

I don't think all of womanhood is about fear, hate, mistrust, and those other things. But anyone who claims that women and men are treated equally is just insane. Women are definitely treated differently than men.

I think part of this is similar to why people react so strongly to Gwyneth Paltrow. She talks about how hard it is to be a working mom and how underpaid she is and all those other things. She is a woman with means beyond measure. She has no idea what struggle REALLY means. And the same thing is true with Bruce Jenner. All his life he's been privileged. He has no real idea what struggle is.

There is a whole lot to being a woman. It's not all about motherhood, or menstruation, or sex, or any ONE thing - it is a combination of everything growing up as a female means - and the trials, joys, tribulations and experiences that come with it. Putting a dress on does not make one a woman.
