TGIF!  I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and I thought I saw a lady who I had worked with.  She is an LVN.  She looked a little different.  I called her name and lo and behold it WAS her.  She had lost a bunch of weight.  We chit chatted for a little bit.  I told her I noticed on FB that she had moved.  She said yes, she came home from work and found her b/f of 25 years in bed with another woman!  She was always such a nice lady.  I felt bad for her.

Yikes NJN! In her own bed, that would just make me snap!
So happy it's Friday. Need to do all the stuff I didn't do last weekend due to no air.

Flooring guys coming back around 10:00 - wonder where we'll go out to eat today. Yesterday we tried a new place - great - I mean really really GREAT - mushroom soup to go along with my grilled chicken sandwich. We can't walk on the new floor for 48 hours - life is interesting.

Finally moving today. Of course I have work until 4 and then I come home to chaos. We moved over a bunch of stuff yesterday, mostly boxes and small furniture, end tables and such. Today the big stuff goes. The cable guy comes over anytime from 8-noon so DH has prepped the TVs already. About half the clothes are there. I need to get pots/pans and dishes over today and the rest of my clothes. What a hassle. It seems so ridiculous to pack stuff up when we are moving less than a mile down the road.

I'm still moving. DH ordered another dumpster delivered yesterday. It helps toss things if it is that easy. Of course - we'll never fill another one, it's a complete waste of money, and he did it anyway - for convenience. After we're done, we're going to tell the neighbors if they have anything to toss- have at it.

DS called last night. He came home to the apt he is renting a room in temporarily the other day. Found evidence of drug use, and we aren't talking pot. Anyway, yesterday a guy he works with at his new job has a 3 bedroom condo near where DS is buying and offered to let him stay with him until DS closes on his Town Home. So he is going to do that tomorrow. He is going to move out while the person who is renting him this seedy room is at work. He figures she might get PO'd but if she tries anything he will let her know that he took pictures of all the evidence. It's too bad, he says she's a nice person, just runs in the drug circle.

Yes, I know.  If I have the time, I'll take it.  BUT, the good news is that we are going through everything, purging and organizing as we go.

Good that he found out and has a place to land. Kudos to him!

It's supposed to be sunny for a few days so I'm going to take advantage and take my home office outdoors today. The tree guy still has to pick up the pavers from the old patio we had, but I'm reluctant to call and remind him because I want to enjoy my backyard (in my bathing suit) without worrying about a bunch of guys showing up.

The first couple times I hired professional packers/movers, I cringed at all the crap I paid to have moved which I ended up throwing away when unpacking. If possible, I started weeding things out before moving from then on. It's really laborious to move, but a good opportunity to thin things out, IMO. For short moves, I would just carry a set of dishes and silverware and glasses in the passenger seat of my car so that I would be able to eat without having to unpack.

Good Day Everybody! Weather is very nice out. Perfect, mid-80s, low humidity, lots of sunshine.

And I am stuck inside trying to finish schoolwork. MIL will be here about 3:00 so I need to try to be done by then. I'm not so sure about this.

Moving sucks. We still have stuff at MILs house from when we moved out 9 years ago. Should probably just throw it out at this point.

Glad your son is moving out fast.
FNW, enjoy the backyard.
Momola, enjoy the new floors.

WE have been moving stuff in open boxes, unpacking them, and taking the boxes back to load up again.  I'm trying to put stuff away as I bring it in.  One evening at the old house packing, one evening at the new house unpacking.....

ahh Happy Friday!

It is a sunny 82 right now and supposed it hit upper 90's as it has all week!

When I get off work we are heading West about 70 miles to camp in Buffalo WY.

If any of you read or watch the Longmire books/show. It is the town they call Durant in there!

In fact in June they have Longmire Days and several of the TV stars were there. The guy who writes the books lives in Ucross WY and I have met him. I have never watched the show, but LOVE the books!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

summer is fast zipping along

Happy Friday everyone. I moved 9 years ago & still have a few boxes stashed in closets that I never unpacked. I should probably just toss them. And yeah moving sucks. New houses rock though so it is worth it.

Ikwtd, I'm glad your son is out and best wishes for his new adventure. Hope the move goes smoothly for the geeks who are moving.

I'm real tired and feeling the jet lag. Flight from Japan was delayed and customs was packed in Chicago so almost missed my last flight but made it home. My husband got me flowers, changed the sheets and even charged my tooth brush. He is so happy I'm home. I do miss my girls. It was so hard saying goodbye to them.

Lindley, wow, the time sure went fast for your vacation/family visit! Glad you are home safely. Welcome back!

MM, hope the moving goes well for all of you.

LL, LOL... someday the moving will be over.

IKWTDS, glad your DS found another place to live!

I am nursing DH for the next few days. He had surgery on Wednesday, which was successful, but he started bleeding heavily two hours afterwards and had to stay overnight due to heavy blood loss. Gosh, he gave us a scare. I'm pushing iron rich foods on him..... raisins. ;) and lots of red meat. If I can get him to eat.

Band of Brother's marathon today. He's happy and that's all that counts. :)

Today is my down day! Yeah. I will watch my favorite shows tonight and relax with a salad. My main accomplishment for today is to wrap up the two dozen baby outfits and all the other crap I got my friend for her shower tomorrow. I'm wondering if I should leave the hangers on or not? I never hung baby clothes. Maybe a few fancy dresses but not all the other stuff. Most definitely not onsies and leggings.

Here's a picture of her nursery.

I didn't hang most of the little baby clothes either. But I had to hang the dresses she had.

The boys had a lot of little outfits that had to be hung. Overalls were easier to hang.

The nursery is cute.

You know what is needed for little girls? A place for all the headbands and hairbows. Something that displays them for easy access.

Although the little hairbows would not stay in her hair and she hated the headbands.

Isn't it?  They did a really good job.  The shelves were plain white and they repainted them.  She's going to be one spoiled little girl.  I will be baby sitting her.  Her mom has this grand idea that she is going to be a SAHM.  She wants to quit work and just take a couple college classes.  However, they just had a home built and financed everything in it from the furniture to the appliances and they each have a car payment.  I am thinking once she stays home for awhile and the bills start piling up she will go back to work.

They were going to do cream and pink and then her b/f decided on the gray. I think it's really pretty.

I like the pink with the grey, I also think it would have been pretty with the cream. My favorite pink combo is with chocolate brown. But not for a nursery.

I already bought her a beautiful white bassinet. I got it used for forty dollars. It's beyond gorgeous. This lady sold it to me used on FB. She put her son in it one time and he cried so she started cosleeping after that. The thing looks brand new. It has a mobile, lights that twinkle, teddy bears that go around, it plays music and vibrates. She had it in her room when I saw the new house.

You will not believe the amount of stuff I have bought. This kid is going to be spoiled. I will take a picture later as I am wrapping.

Very cute! Why so much? Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it seems like a lot when you consider the basinet and all.

Dang it!  You found me out!  Yep.  I love to shop.  Especially for people I really like.  This girl (She's a woman.  I call her girl cause she's 23.) is like a daughter to me.  She is so sweet and kind.  She told her b/f first, then her bio mom, and then came over and told DH and I.  Her mom lives two hours away from here.  So while she gets to talk to her and see her when she wants it's not a "Let me just run over right after work." relationship.  Her mom is a nurse too.  She doesn't get a lot of time off.  I'm going to be the adopted grandma!  Baby sit and all that.  You can ask anyone on this board that babies are my weakness.  I buy anyone who has a baby a gift.  And the more special I can make it the better it is.  I try to think of what each person would specifically want or need and then get it.  That's just me.  I've been buying stuff since the day I found out she was pregnant.  FWM and I go to this outlet mall and they have this store that's kind of like a Ross.  I got a lot of stuff from there for not much.  Plus, the Sam's by us has Carter's infant clothes for about six bucks.  They had some on sale the other day for two dollars.  I got some silverware at Target on the dollar aisle and photo album clearanced to fifty cents.  I also got socks six pairs for a buck on clearance at Wal-Mart.  Whenever I see socks or rompers on clearance I buy one for now and one in 2T.  So while I've spent a bunch of money it's not nearly as much as it seems.  I'm a super good shopper.  And the bassinet was only forty bucks.  Brand new.  Lady put her baby in it one time.  It's really beautiful.  Eh, it seems weird but it's just me.  I figure a good deed can't be bad for my karma!  biggrin
