Family Values Activist Josh Duggar Had a Paid Ashley Madison Account

In 2013, conservative reality TV star Josh Duggar—of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting fame—was named the executive director of the Family Research Council, a conservative lobbying group in D.C. which seeks “to champion marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society.” During that time, he also maintained a paid account on Ashley Madison, a web site created for the express purpose of cheating on your spouse.

In May 2015, Duggar was forced to resign after In Touch Weekly reported that he had molested five young girls (four of whom were his own sisters) beginning in 2002. When the accusations became public, the family went into crisis mode, insisting that Josh had reformed and that the media covering the claims was intent on “exploiting women.”

Josh himself took to his family’s Facebook page to absolve himself of his past indiscretions and assure the world he was back on a righteous path:

Twelve years ago, as a young teenager I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.

And his wife, for her part, certainly seemed to believe it:

And when you, our sweet fans, first met me when Josh asked me to marry him... I was able to say, “Yes” knowing who Josh really is - someone who had gone down a wrong path and had humbled himself before God and those whom he had offended. Someone who had received the help needed to change the direction of his life and do what is right. I want to say thank you to those who took time over a decade ago to help Josh in a time of crisis. Your investment changed his life from going down the wrong path to doing what is right.

But data released online in the wake of the hack on Ashley Madison’s servers certainly seems to show otherwise. Someone using a credit card belonging to a Joshua J. Duggar, with a billing address that matches the home in Fayetteville, Arkansas owned by his grandmother Mary—a home that was consistently shown on their now-cancelled TV show, and in which Anna Duggargave birth to her first child—paid a total of $986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions from February of 2013 until May of 2015.

According to the data, Josh Duggar was paying Ashley Madison in order to find an extramarital partner for the following acts:

“Conventional Sex,” Experimenting with Sex Toys,” One-Night Stands,” “Open to Experimentation,” “Gentleness,” “Good With Your Hands,” Sensual Massage,” “Extended Foreplay/Teasing,” “Bubble Bath for 2,” “Likes to Give Oral Sex,” “Likes to Receive Oral Sex,” “Someone I Can Teach,” “Someone Who Can Teach Me,” “Kissing,” “Cuddling & Hugging,” “Sharing Fantasies,” “Sex Talk.”

And here are the turn-ons that he offered up in service of finding a compatible person other than his wife with which to engage in those acts:

“A Professional/Well Groomed,” “Stylish/Classy,” “Casual Jeans/T-shirt Type,” “Muscular/Fit Body,” ”Petite Figure,” “Tall Height,” “Short Height,” “Long Hair,””Short Hair,” “Girl Next Door,” “Naughty Girl,” “Sense of Humor,” “Imagination,” “Creative and Adventurous,” “Relaxed and Easy Going,” “Aggressive/Take Charge Nature,” “Confidence,” “Discretion/Secrecy,” “A Good Listener,” “Good Personal Hygiene,” “Average Sex Drive,” “High Sex Drive,” “Dislikes Routine,” “Has a Secret Love Nest,” “Disease Free,” “Drug Free,” and “Natural Breasts.”

In July 2014*, he seems to have started a second account that was linked to his home in Oxon Hill, Maryland, where he spent his time lobbying against causes like same-sex marriage. The birthday listed in the data for Duggar’s first account is February 3, 1988, one month off Duggar’s actual birthday of March 3, 1988. The birthday listed for the second account is March 2, 1988.

The two accounts overlap by a period of a few months. When he launched the second account, Duggar paid an initial fee of $250 that appears to have gone toward the purchase of an “affair guarantee”:

Customers who buy 1,000 credits for $250 receive a money-back “affair guarantee,” if they don’t have an affair within three months.

The second account, which was registered in July of 2014, was paid on a monthly basis until May of 2015. We’ve reached out to TLC, the Family Research Council, and a spokesman for the Duggar family for comment and will update if we hear back.

 

WOW. I am curious to see how they spin this...

 If I have to lose I have to say I lost to a great person!

You know, I'm sure a lot of people will be mad at me for this but Josh has always seemed like he just didn't want to follow the extreme lifestyle that the Duggars have.  I have no problem with them or their lifestyle.  But I also don't think it's exactly normal.  They don't even kiss until their wedding day.  That's really not normal.  Even if you want to remain a virgin until your wedding day that's cool.  But people can still kiss.  Josh just seems like he wants to live a normal life but he's too brainwashed to break out of what he has been taught.

A questionable search history is one thing, and if that was what was leaked, I wouldn't think twice about it, because I think most people's search history could turn up some odd stuff. But this is not one, but two accounts (one for each address he lived at) linked to a website to enable cheating with a credit card paying out for months. How many of us can say our name is in that leak?

Not a fan of the family. It makes me wonder if his information is easily checked if someone created an account using his info. Why would anyone use real information on an account. Buy a visa card with cash and use that to setup an account.

Last night, I went home and said to G, "OMG, did you hear about the Ashley Madison breach?????". He said, "No, who is she?".

 I heard on another board it's a 10 GB file you have to download. There are websites popping up that let you search emails to see if they are part of the leak though: https://ashley.cynic.al/

I was thinking what LL was. He has an awful tame profile. Not once does he list threesomes or sex with a man. He wants cuddling, someone who wears jeans, and someone confident with herself. It sounds to me like he wants to check out what a woman is like who doesn't exist in his limited world. I don't think these wives, the Duggar wives, are very powerful in their marriages. I doubt she ever asked to see a bill and wouldn't even if she suspected something. They are taught to honor their husbands.

I totally agree.  He's fishing for a normal life.  A normal woman.  And we don't know for sure that he cheated.  Yes, signing up for this site is horrible and disgusting.  But what if her never acted on it?  Maybe it was like porn to him...I don't know...

 

I have never seen out CC bills.  Actually, I don't see ANY of our bills.  They all come to G's email, but we pay everything electronically, automatically.   He budgets and will ask me what certain charges are for if he can't figure it out.  But that's just to know what budget line he should charge it to.  I could not for the life of me tell you our electric bill, water bill, gas bill, food budget.  I wouldn't even have a frame of reference...

I have never seen out CC bills.  Actually, I don't see ANY of our bills.  They all come to G's email, but we pay everything electronically, automatically.   He budgets and will ask me what certain charges are for if he can't figure it out.  But that's just to know what budget line he should charge it to.  I could not for the life of me tell you our electric bill, water bill, gas bill, food budget.  I wouldn't even have a frame of reference...

 Oh4, not to be a total downer but you need to know these things.  Not because I think G is doing anything but because he is significantly older than you & you never know when something might happen.  For your own good you at least need to know what your monthly budget is.

I don't see the bills either. But once in awhile, I'll look at our bank account, and open the Amex bill.

I don't know about an undergroud web but I've known about Ashley Madison for years. There was a huge huge controversy about three years ago maybe? where they had put advertising on 18 wheelers. It was a big uproar. I've never been to the site but DH says he has. I told him he was stupid. He didn't get an account. He just looked around.

Really Josh's profile is tame. The worst you can say about it is that he wanted to experiment and/or experiment with toys. That's nothing these days. Most of his responses centered around cuddling, snuggling, and kissing. Very touchy feely. The Duggars definitely aren't PDA. I think that he may just have wanted some that.
