I now have to officially get up in three hours. We'll see how I fare. SB I'll be calling you to discuss this morning thing with you.

SB, FNW needs an explanation about me and morning.

FNW, NJN thinks early is 10 am. That's because she thinks a reasonable bedtime is 4am.
Two hours sleep! I am coming home from the dentist to sleep!

I love early morning!
I just had to go round and round with one of our agency nurses. She's insisting on taking something in a room that's newborn size for a 3 year old. I told her it won't work but she said she wants it. I hope the doctor screams at her.
No screaming please. I feel hungover. My head is about to explode. How do people DO this. On a daily basis even?

You laugh. I'm serious. In half an hour I have to wake the kids up. My poor head.

Me too. In all fairness I asked her if she could squeeze us in. Our current insurance is running out soon and we'll be getting new insurance But our present insurance is really good and pays for everything. So I've been really busy trying to get stuff taken care off. Amy is so nice. One of the dental hygienists up there is a surrogate mom. She has signed a contract with the couple to carry three children.

Totally great news! I have a rich uncle in Africa. All I have to do is send him $5,000 to get a plane ticket to the US and he'll bring me my inheritance. Just got the new in my email!

You need to shop with my boys, flan. They will stand there and hand everything to the checker to speed things up. I cringe, but so far, the checkers have thought it was cute and reward them with candy for "helping".
I hope you enjoy your morning NJN.. and then get a good nap later :)
I got a lot accomplished this morning all by 10 o'clock. We went to DD's class and got all the Friday folder stuff ready (wasn't much, didn't take long) then came home and cleaned my house. I just have to wait for the laundry.

And I have done the opposite. I called a life insurance client to check to see how they were doing and if they were up to date on their insurance needs. It was our way of keeping in touch with the clients. Well, turns out the client died two years prior and the spouse never knew the life insurance was still being paid for.
My son was really excited to be hosting his own car meet last night. Five minutes before I left for work, I called him to see how it went. On the way there, they were rear-ended on the highway and plowed into the car ahead of them. His little Civic crumpled like an accordion.
He hurt his his neck and back and his girlfriend smashed her face into the dashboard. They're both in the ER. He didn't call me because "he didn't want to worry me."
Oh good heavens. I just called and asked for someone's death certificate who is very much still alive.
What did you say? "Oh good, just checking..."
They dropped off a deed that had joint tenancy language on it for mom and daughter, with daughter making a note she needed the property conveyed to her name solely - which means we would just do an affidavit and attach the death certificate. They also included Letters Testamentary (for and Executor Appointment), and I just glanced at it, and saw we had no death certificate, and called and asked for one. She was just like "My mother is not dead". Ooops - then WHY include the letters testamentary? They were for her dad and completely irrelevent. Sigh. I just told her the truth.

Oh my goodness! Glad it wasn't worse but wishing them a speedy recovery. He sounds like a thoughtful young man not to want to worry his mom.

Do they get refunded for those premiums?

Wow. When he gets better, make sure to knock some sense into him. I'm glad they were not hurt worse.

Poor guy has had the worst summer. At the end of June, he went to the ER to check out a lump at the base of his spine. They insisted on doing surgery that very day. He had to go to the clinic every day for about 6 weeks to get the wound debrided, cleaned and repacked. It was so painful, they put him on Oxycontin, and they NEVER do that. And Ativan, because he has a medical phobia.
Poor kid. He can't catch a break.

Ah, well, then maybe knocking him around is not the best idea. Hugs will have to work with a stern warning to never do that again. Moms get to KNOW.

I don't have Czech's memory so after reading all these posts the only thing I remember is Weltz's post about her son. I hope he is ok , sounds like he is all grown up and can handle emergencies withouth Mom, that is a good thing.
Welcome back FWM!

It sounds like the Civic did its' job, the front and back crumpled but not the passenger cabin.
Do you know whether there were air bags? Did they work?
Did your son and GF have their seatbelts on?
Actually it sound like he DID "catch a break". Twice.
1) His tumor was caught early enough that it was operable.
2) And the car that rear-ended him was probably going MUCH faster than he was, and neither he nor GF were seriously injured.
(Unlike Tracy Morgan).

It's a very old Honda Civic that he bought 4th hand. Did you know there's a whole Civic cult? Young men buy the most ridiculous things...like irridescent purple valve covers, glow-in-the-dark shift knobs, decals and stickers. My son is in the business of selling this stuff and the merchandise moves like hotcakes.
Evidently, it had airbags, but they didn't deploy. Someone must have removed or disabled them before he bought the car.
Yes, they were both wearing seat belts. My son insists on it, as you can get a really big ticket if you don't.
Im glad they are ok. I cant even imagine your relief right now. What a day. Even with our differences, i feel for you as a mother. We are the same in that regard. ..

Omg...my ex step son (if thats even a term...he will always be mine, i raised him) is in the Honda Civic circle. These guys and gals are serious. They have their own car shows and go crazy with the modifications. When my mothers civic died a couple of years ago, i gave it to him. He was in heaven...
