Our zoo has a brand new baby Panda. There were twins but one died. I don't think you can look at the baby yet.
I heard about that, Lexxy!

It's been all over local news but I didn't know if it was National news or not. I actually haven't been to the zoo in years. The coolest time was they had a night time Halloween party & you could view some of the exhibits. Some of them were sleeping but the big cats are nocturnal. It was super cool.

I was sad when the twin died. Apparently the mother wasn't paying attention to is, so she must have sensed it wouldn't make it. At least that's how I understand it works in the animal world.
Busy couple of days...Six Flags, Nats game. Today the boys are out playing ball with DH and when they get home we'll go for a swim.
Day started out overcast and drizzly but is warming up with sunshine now. Going to be a humid afternoon tho.
Got my hair cut this morning. I should have waiting until next week when all the kids are back in school. Yea, it was packed with kids. Next time, I think I will take my cousin up on her offer to do it at her house instead of the salon.
Only a few more days of peace and relaxation. One class starts on Wednesday and my internship next week. Still need to get things organized here at the house. Only five loads of laundry, floors to mop and a few boxes of paperwork to organize on my off days this week.
Need to research and find a recipe for dinners. I want to try chicken and rice in the pressure cooker for tonight and ribs for Wednesday.
Am I the only one noticing the leaves changing? Is it early? It seems early to me.

It's the middle of summer here. Won't start cooling down till the end of September. We're still hovering around the 100 mark.

Leaves are starting to change here too. My poor fig tree just lost half its leaves overnight.
So it isn't just me seeing it.
Our fig trees haven't produced this year. Got maybe three figs. We have 4 trees.

I was so cold yesterday. It was only 71 and it was breezy.
It has been really nice lately.
Been nice not running the AC so much too.
But I am really afraid this winter will be horrendous.

One of ours is producing like crazy. I gave away about 20 figs just last week. There are about 10 more that are ready or almost ready to pick. We have lost several to squirrels and wind.
The other two are still in their first full season so we don't expect to harvest from them but they do have a few figs on them.
Our original "big" fig tree is in a large pot. It is the third generation of a tree that came from Italy by DH's grandfather. FIL took a cutting and grew the second generation. When we moved here in 2006, he gave us cutting in 2007. We have finally been able to successfully propagate our own cuttings to continue the hand down process. I believe we will hand down one of these to DSS either when we visit this weekend.
I don't know where 3 came from, the 4th came from one of the three.

Going to the Dr. Tues. Ever since I got back my stomach has been aweful. I can hardly eat anything that would agree with me. I can only east crackers, toast and sprite. I want to be normal again.

Have you had your gallbladder checked?

I LOVE fresh figs. However, they're really expensive up here.

That may happen weds. So far I don't have any pain just nausea.

Ginger helps a lot. You should drink ginger ale instead of Sprite. I hope it's nothing seruious. How long have you been feeling sick?

I might try ginger ale. I've had it for two weeks now. Some days worse then others. I've spent over a month in Asia and I don't know if the American food was to much for me or I've picked up some kind of virus. Thank you

Your gallbladder doesn't have to be giving you pain to be a problem. How long has this been going on? I've seen you posting about it, but I don't have the time concept in mind. If it's relatively recent - it could also be your appendix, which could get bad really fast, so don't play on that.

Ohhhhhh. Yeah. Coming back from Japan I got really sick when I came home- eating was a problem. And this is so TMI, but
Spoiler
my poops were radio-active neon green. Watch out for that.

Just since I got back from Asia which was the 13th of this month. I've got a dr.'s appt. weds so I hope he will check everything out. I was fine till I ate some ribs and that is when I started to feel sick. My dh had the same thing and he is alright so I don't think it is food poison. I kept hoping it would just go away but since it hasn't I'm going to the dr. I will ask him about the gall bladder though. My dad always had issues with his.
I take ginger before I go on a cruise or go to an amusement park. It does wonders for my motion sickness. I ate a lot of ginger when I was pregnant, too.
Green colored poo can also be caused by dyes. I know when my boys eat some crazy flavored (i.e., colored) ice cream from BR or cake frosting that was dyed, their poo looks bright green, too.
I hope the doctor finds something simple like re-adjustment to Western foods!
It's very hot here and humid. Nothing like in the South, I'm sure.
So pissed off at the insurance company. They will not approve the meds because it was not documented that two or more meds from a very specific list of six meds (never provided previously) did not work. Funny part is that I tried 3 of the 4 OTC meds that they list. But they need documentation from the doctor. And the Rx meds I have been taking are not even on their list.
So, now I have to wait even longer. If I could afford it, I would pay for it out of pocket. But even thru the Canadian pharmacies, it is still around $1500 per shot and I need 2 per dosage.
The tree that tried to kill me back in June dropped another branch during the storm Saturday night and there's another one that will fall anytime. It's barely hanging on. The tree itself is looking like it's going to topple over. I can see some of the roots and it's leaning to one side.
Visited the in-laws yesterday. FIL was special as ever. They got a new kitten - much against MIL's will but FIL doesn't give a hoot about anyone's wants but his own. It's a cute little thing. 4 weeks old. Got treated to a lightning show on the way home.

It still could be the ribs. Some people are more susceptible to bugs than others. My brother-in-law could eat carrion that would kill most of us.
First day of school tomorrow. DD insists she needs no help packing her lunch or backpack. Sigh... I'm sure she screwed up but must let her make her own mistakes.
