Interesting little site. It's designed for guys. It's about giving consent for sex. The site is not big but it does drive home the point that no is no. I've been starting to see more and more video's and commercials directed at guys. I know people are saying that we need to educate the boys and I think this is a good start.

A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
It's fine--but simply telling criminals to not commit crimes has never really been a deterrent.
But husker, in the case of date rape, does the guy really think he's a criminal?
flan
???? Everyone who commits a crime justifies it to themselves. Plus, they aren't criminals until they commit a crime--but there's always a first time.
Laws work because most people do obey them--but obviously those who are going to commit crimes do not.
?????
husker, I am NOT talking about two strangers. I'm talking about a couple, where things are consensual UNTIL she says "No" because she doesn't want to have sex.
But we need to teach girls that yes means yes and they can't "take it back" because they were drunk or get caught or whatever.
Self responsibility should be taught to everyone.

You know first people scream that the men need to be more educated and learn that no means no. So someone starts a project to do just that and then people scream it's ultimately up to the woman so we don't need a program like this. Then people say it's worthless even trying so don't bother. Basically what it comes down to is you're either part of the solution or part of the answer.

Here's the thing - teaching respect for women is a lifelong endeavor from when boys are born. A class when they are already grown is not going to stop men who don't respect women to begin with.
Yes, teach them to respect when a woman says no - but by the time they get to college, that needs to have long been done.

ITA, but what do we do in the meantime? Or about the men who weren't taught that at home? It's not a perfect approach and I don't think it's going to stop rape altogether but if it makes even one guy think twice then it's done it's job. Unfortunately, probably the only ones that will get involved with this are the ones who wouldn't do it in the first place.
I guess I just thought it was a good thing because this was the first thing I've seen directed solely toward men. Have you seen their tv commercial?

No. And I'm not against it by any means b/c you are right, if it makes one think twice, that is good. But most of the ones that would rape are not going to be swayed.

I agree, but it's a start. And you're right that it should be taught at home. But like a lot of things it's not.
They have a commercial now and it opens with a guy carrying a drunk girl into a room. He says, "Do you know what a real man doe to a girl who get drunk?" Then he puts the girl on the sofa and takes off his shoes. He goes out of the picture and comes back with a pillow, blanket, and chair. He puts the pillow under her head and covers her up. Then he sits in the chair next to the sofa and falls asleep.
Okay, cheesy and maybe stupid. I guess I just like that someone has finally addressed the men instead of telling women it's all their problem.

Well, I like that commercial. I'm just sad it is needed.

I'd like to see this commercial.
Is there a link to it on You Tube?

I looked for a link on the site. I saw the commercial last night on tv with the link to itsonus.org So I went there. I was kind of disappointed by the website because the commercial was really well made.

This isn't an answer. Never has been in the history of mankind.
