Had a crazy storm come in yesterday. Had to retreat to the room.

Got to go back out and the kids rode go karts.

Today we are going to the Christmas store and the kids want to play mini golf.

We go home in the morning.

It's been really nice having this time alone with my kids. It doesn't happen much.

Have fun with your bunch NJN.

Have a great day yall.

Dh and I have been furniture shopping. Would like to get a new sofa and dining room table. However, the one I liked and posted is just not wide enough. It's a long rectangle but only 36 inches wide. I like the look of it but just doesn't seem practical.

Yeah! Later DN and sparkly will be here. It will be great. DH's bday passed while he was gone and Sparkly's is coming up so we are going to find a day to celebrate both of them. Not today though! Sparkly has really become a part of the family. Wouldn't be surprised if we heard wedding bells in the future.

Sounds like a great weekend for you NJN. Did church, a little shopping and lunch and tried to get some yard work done. As soon as the people started working on the lot across the street the rain came. Did manage to trim some bushes and take the chainsaw to a dead stump.

So having a good day. And here's a nice story for ya'll. This lady posted this on FB... Apparently her husband is a construction foreman. Two days ago a man wandered up to the site and asked if they needed help. They talked a bit and he found out the guy was homeless and wanted a job. So he figured he'd let him work that day. Turns out the guy worked harder than anyone else. So the foreman asked him where he would stay. The guy said he and his wife had been staying under bridges and places like that. The foreman went and got the wife and invited them to stay at his house. After doing construction all day the guy went out and mowed the foreman's yard. They have nothing and asked for nothing except a chance to do an honest days work. So the foreman took to the internet and now donations are pouring in. They just happened to be the same sizes as DH and I so I bagged up three trash bags of clothes and toiletries and shoes and other stuff for them. The lady is even going to drive over and pick it up today. It is so nice to see people who really want to work for a living. Not just sit back and expect a hand out.

Now that is a nice heart warming story, the kind that renews your faith in someone who says they are need.

Just got home from a wonderful afternoon with friends. Also a nice walk in the 'hood with the dog and chatting it up with my neighborhood friends. Sigh, I love these types of days.

It was really nice. The foreman and his wife had tons of people donate to them. So today they spent the day driving around picking up stuff. They brought the couple along. They were so nice and so gracious. The guy said they were never looking for all this just an honest days work. So nice to see. They were so thankful for everything.

These are the type of people that inspire people to give. Good for them for wanting a day's work for a day's pay and nothing more. I am glad they are reaping the benefits of being hardworking. Keep us posted on how they are doing if you find out more.

Took DS to the play area at the mall today. He amused himself on the rides while the play area was being cleaned then ran around the play area for a good hour.

Will do.  They thanked us with the other couple present and then came back alone (after the couple got in the car) to thank us again.  They asked us if there was anything they could do for us.  We told them that when they get settled and are able to pay it forward.  They promised they would.  They just seemed so nice.  I see so many people that are just out and out begging.  I see people begging for diapers and food and then when people offer it they'll say they have no car so can they just bring it to them.  It's frustrating because you think I'm giving you free stuff.  But this couple didn't even ask.  I hope they get on their feet and do well.  Some people truly do have a hard time and can get out of it with some help.

Those are the exact type of people that government benefits are meant for. I hope they make it!
