My week went way too fast. I'm hoping the weekend will be better.

This is my Friday off. All that really means is I get to sleep in until 6. I have work to do but will do it at home.
The weather is wonderful but the acorns are horrible. Need to wear a hard hat in the back yard. All day and night you can hear them fall. We are going to have some fat squirrels and chipmunks!

IKWTDS, did you know that acorns can be ground into flour?
We have a couple acorn trees, and I was curious what could be done with them.
You have to soak them and then toast them. But then they can be ground into a powder and used for baking.
Once they have been soaked and toasted, you can eat them like any other nut.
I haven't tried this yet.

Morning! One more day of company! Going to Charleston today. Acorns are just starting to fall. I hate trying to get them all off the ground. Lazy squirrels don't get them all.
Well, crapola! The youngest Doxie had major trouble getting up the steps from the backyard. He finally made it, which is good because I could not have carried him up. He's walking fine on level ground, though.

Yeah, I'll stick to paying $2 for it at the store.
I just thought it was interesting. I never knew you could eat them.
Maybe if I do SS, they'll get some!

I'm tired. Baby was up a bunch last night and then woke up early this morning. I need to do some work in DD's class this morning and run some errands. Then perhaps a nap.
They can be poisonous. Like apple seeds have either sianide or arsenic in them.
But that's why you soak and roast them.

I flipping hate the base. They do everything so backwards and its like they try to make everything as inconvenient as possible.
I've been here for over an hour waiting on a prescription to be filled. My doctor called me Wed. to let me know he put a prescription in for me, I gave them time to fill it before going in today, only to find out they don't fill them untilI I come in to activate it. I could leave but I feel like if I've already committed this much time it'd be silly to go home only to have to come back later.
Desmond had a vet apt this morning so I loaded him in his carrier & we got in the car & nothing. The damned thing is dead. I had to call my mom to give me a ride. I was supposed to be driving a coworker so my mom had to pick her up too. Ggrr......
Yeah that is a whole other issue. I'm going to have to ask my mom to take me by the liquor store on the way home tonight. She frowns on my drinking. I'm seriously considering going home & calling a cab to take me.

Oh boy, I read that as though Desmond was dead...

Oh no, no, no that would be far worse than the car. I should probably thank you for putting things into perspective.

Sorry my phrasing is confusing. Dez is perfectly ok. The vet gave him a clean bill of health & all his shots. The car on the other hand is not so good.
Have fun Oh4! It should be a lovely weekend for a road trip. At least in this area.

Had a great Friday. The doctor took a bunch of blood last week to try and figure out why my feet tend to swell and ran all kinds of tests on it. Came back with no heart problem, no kidney problem, no liver problem no problem with the neck, etc. etc. Great. All in my head. LOL
Looks like tomorrow (Saturday) the Japanese Diet will pass the bill to change the status of the Japanese Defense Force. Look for all H... to break loose from people here who object, not to mention China and Korea.... I do not look forward to the next few weeks....

Well, my day has gone superbly well. I'm going to start babysitting a two year old on Monday! DH's ex step daughter needs a sitter. I'm looking forward to it. And I started a FB support group! Still new to this admin stuff but I'm learning. So far I've managed to approve everyone who wanted to join!

I hope you get a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.
Spouse is in the same situation, very swollen feet and legs.
All the tests came up normal, including ultrasound and CAT scan. She's cut almost all the sodium she can from her diet. Nothing is helping.

The doctor noticed two scars; one each on the inside of my ankles, and asked about them. I told her that I had had an operation 56 years ago when I was in the US Army (yes, not a mis-type 56) and they simply said at that time it was a operation on both tarsal tunnels to remove excess veins/arteries that had caused both of my feet to lose feeling. Since that time, no problems at all. The Doctor said the swelling might be due to this old surgery causing some problems, but not to worry about it and just to keep an eye on it... Well, OK... But, really 56 years ago??
So how about your wife, Ed? Any foot problems in the past that could be affecting circulation now or edema in her feet??

Thanks for the explanation Karl.
No, nothing that could cause this.
I keep thinking it could be a side-effect of the medication she takes for back pain (Meloxicam), but the doctors say no.
My other thought is that she should walk a LOT more, but she refuses.
