Have you seen them? Would it be worth it? Would you do one?

What next? Fall lights, presents for fall? Christmas is more than enough to handle around here. Besides if I want to see fall trees I'll wait a month and see the real things...lol

I like the idea of the different trees. I just don't have the time or energy to do it myself. Of course I could just leave the Christmas tree up all year and change out the decorations. I've thought about doing that, but my thoughts never came to fruition. I do decorate for fall and Halloween, summer (think flags, red/white/blue) and Spring, and Christmas/winter. It's a lot of work but the boys love it and it changes things up and keeps things clean and fresh.

Yep. There is enough brown and orange in fall without purposely adding it to my interior. Those colors are fine in nature - but not so much in decor.

I haven't done one in about 6 years. I have an entire closet full of Christmas decorations but I just can't seem to muster up the enthusiasm to decorate. Last year I gave a bunch of stuff to my niece. She is young & just moved out on her own & didn't have any.
I don't even bother with pumpkins either. If I happen to think about it I will pick up a bag of those pinecones that are infused with cinnamon & call it good.
I'm going to do TWO Christmas trees this year. DH really wants to put the tree down in the family room, but I really want one in the living room next to the fireplace for Santa. So, we are going to do both!

I used to have about 6 trees. I've scaled back though. A couple of years ago, I actually bought and artificial tree as my "big" one. G was over the moon excited.
Now I only do 2 or 3. I LOVE decorating my big tree though. My ornaments all have meaning to them. I love pulling them out of the box and remembering where I got them or who bought them and sent them to me. I always ask for an ornament from the location of my SS.

There is already Halloween lights. I think the trees will look pretty but decorating for Christmas is enough for me.

I love ornaments that tell a story too. I have ornaments from everywhere I traveled and my dd always sent me a ornament from her travels. I have ornaments from niger, tanzania, dubai , india, singapore, Indonesia, Japan,Scotland ,England and parts of the United States.

If I can't find an ornament of a memory, I create one. G and I went to the Penn State/Bama Game a few years back. Of course they didn't have an ornament, so I bought a keychain and made it into an ornament. Its about the memories...

I do two.
A big, traditional, country tree in the den. Classic reds, green, and nature theme.
And a smaller, alternating theme tree in the living room. It's been a white tree for the last 10 years. Themes from candy to nature to blue and ice was last year. Thing is I liked the ice so much, I'm doing it again. Only I got a green tree this year. I got it on sale after Christmas last year.
I use to do one in every room.
Had a small, 2 ft tree in the bathroom, the kids had little trees in their rooms.
I have a huge magnolia tree in our yard I would LOVE to decorate. But the ornaments big enough to see on it are $20-$50 each.
So that won't every happen.

My big tree use to have those memory ornaments.
We had things from generations on it.
Things hand made. From kids crafts to hand me downs.
But when the tree fell on the house and ripped through the roof, they were all lost.

Lily your ice tree was absolutely beautiful. I'm not sure it will looks as good with a green tree as it did the white tree. You'll have to post pics again this year.
This is kind of off topic kind of not. When I was a daycare teacher in my long ago youth we had to decorate our rooms. The teachers always spent so much time decorating the doors and redecorating. It was exhausting at times. Then I came up with a brilliant idea. I covered my door halfway up with green and then the other half with blue. Then I cut out a brown tree with branches. I put that on it. Each season we would make something and add it to the tree. In the winter the kids made snowflakes and put their names on them and we hung them on the door. In the spring we made flowers and put their names on them and put them on the door. (We took the snowflakes down.) In the summer we took the flowers down and put up green leaves on the tree with their names on them. In the fall we made brown leaves with their names and put them on the "ground". If their was a holiday like Easter or Thanksgiving we'd make eggs or turkeys and add them to the door. Most versatile thing I ever did!

THANKS! You just made my day!
I will post pictures again.
I have a LOT more to put on it this year.
I am hoping the ornaments will show more.
And the white tree was getting dengy. It happens with white trees.
I got a new topper too.

I'm not a big fan of fake trees. I always used to put up a real tree, and I loved the piney smell. However, I'd spend most of the season righting it after the cat knocked it down or stripped it of its ornaments, and the rest of the year picking needles out of the carpets. Now I just hang up some bells and bows and call it a day.
I didnt have a fake tree until the kids were out of the house. Now its just me and G. Hes gone so much, its not easy for us to find time to get a tree. And i cant do it by myself. Now, i can bring it down in 3 pieces and put it up when hes not even here...

Had a fake tree a few times. It's just not worth the effort.
It isn't cost effective either.

And I grew up with wood heat, fireplace and or wood stove.
A real tree was just kindling.

We had real trees when I was a kid. Our cats would climb up into the tree and hang out.
We have a fiber optic tree that I've had for close to a decade now. It's really showing its age but still works. We didn't put it up last year but we will this year. It's going to be fun keeping DS away from it.

The real trees i would buy were about $130 each. I bought a fake one at Hobby Lobby after Christmas for $300. It will last me a while. At least 10 years....
And its much less upkeep than a real tree. No needles all over the floor or having to deal with dragging it out.

Go to the Dollar Tree or .99 store and get the plastic ornaments for this year.
That way, if he does get a hold of them, he won't get hurt by broken glass.
That's what I did.

I meant real tree. Why did I put fake tree?
I think I'm losing my mind.

Took me a minute to compute what I was looking at.
It's the HL high wearing off.

All of our ornaments are plastic, cloth, or paper (origami).
I used a 4 ft fiber optic tree when the kids were in that handsy stage.

But mine would be a palm tree with flamingos, flip flops and sea shells.

We buy some beachy ornaments every year. Flamingo ornaments are easy to find.

You do not understand the depth of my flamingo obsession.
I have.done well to control it so far.
But Gus is getting awfully lonely.
