Beautiful, sunny day here. Wash is on the line. (Does anyone on this board still hang clothes out to dry? I like the smell of fresh air in the clothes). Promises to be a great day.

I used to hang laundry Karl. No place to do it here though. If we ever get a place of our own...

Too many birds in my area, so no way would I hang the clothes out.  I do remember that fresh air smell from when I was a kid.

Morning!

Let's see. I have a School Board meeting tonight, DD has 3 basketball games, two are out of town. I am coaching 6th grade girls so we have 2 practices this week and I have to fit working in there somewhere too, lol. Oh and my new dining room set is coming today.

Good morning. Again.

Karl, we haven't hung clothes out since 1990. I know this because that's when we moved. No clothesline here. I do miss it some. But I don't think it would be a good idea to do it here now. Too many people around us mowing and throwing dust in the air. And hay fields and chicken houses.

Busy week for you, Gaga. Stay sane.

Hiya IKWTDS and NJN.

I hang clothes but only in the house or garage because of allergies. And only the delicate stuff that I wash myself. Most stuff I send to the dry cleaners because they come back nice and pressed. I hate ironing. My dry cleaners picks up and delivers to my house so I can't beat that. When I was in Japan I did some laundry and hung them to dry and they seemed so stiff I hated it. I saw a lot of clothes lines in Japan so I think that's what most do over there.

I'm getting over my cold and so is #2. And he's less cranky and complaining of leg pain since I started weaning him off corticosteroids. And his congestion is still improving.

Wow! Looks like lots of busy days for all of us! Good morning to all of you!

LL, I do not envy your jury summons, just no.

FNW, so glad your DS is getting better and your are too!

LGS, are you going to survive? Gosh, that is a lot of activities.

Flan, enjoy lunch with your friend.

Hi, lily, Dona, IKWTDS, Karl, and NJN.

I need to start packing for the weekend. I have to repack my quilting supplies, wash sheets to take along, find a quick quilt kit (in my stash) to work on if we finish all the quilts early (4 machines running for 3 days), make a list again, since I lost my first one, and...well...you get the idea.

The house is not going to get a good cleaning this week. Oh well.

Ok -really, I'm excited about jury duty. I have never been called before. I do not know how I have never been called, but I haven't. And as a lawyer, I have always wanted to be on the other side of that jury wall to experience it. I just hope I don't get booted right off the bat b/c I'm a lawyer.

Ugh.  I got called, seated and my father would visit me in Court everyday.  He was a lawyer.  One of the court people looked me up, figured out he was my Dad and I didn't have to decide on it.  It was a scum bag case.  The court guys would see me wave to my father.  They thought it was cute.

Morning everyone. I sat on the jury once. It was a stolen car. We convicted. As it turns out it wasn't his first. They told us that after the fact. I was booted from a rape case early on because I obviously had already sided with the victim.

As a lawyer, I am excused from serving.  That's one of the allowable excuses in VA.

That being said, I served when I was 18.  I loved it.  I think it made me want to be an attorney, although I don't practice much and I've never gone to court.

I sat on two cases, both of which we convicted.   The first one was a child molestation case.    It was pretty cut and dry.  The second was an auto theft case.  Although at the time we did not know we were breaking the rules, we did a little outside investigation during our lunch hour and determined that the defendant was lying in the second trial.

I was seated once. Was a dui case. Lasted 5 hours. Had to watch hours of video from the guy getting the road sobriety test to him just sitting in holding. He refused the breathalyzer. He was probably legally drunk but he was cooperative and respectful and never appeared drunk so we let him off. Even though he failed the road test it was something like taking 11 steps instead of 9 and he was 1/2 an inch off heal to toe. Kid came from a good family and had a good lawyer.

Being an attorney is no longer an automatic excuse here.  My boss ended up sitting there all day, and then getting excused when he was called.  We had one instance where an employee got picked for a civil jury and didn't know one of the parties was a client.  She called the judge the night she found out (yes, she had his number, she used to work for him) and got grilled by both attorney's the next day.  Because she worked in the real estate dept. and knew nothing of the client or his file, they KEPT her.  I couldn't believe it.

still raining here and gloomy, my dogs did not want to go outside this morning, but I made them so they did not have to cross their legs all day LOL

I am still battling cold/sinus and tired all the time. but plugging along. Looking forward to going home after work and just getting warm cuddly clothes on and relaxing on the couch with the puppies til my DH gets home from work. I made enough supper last night so leftovers tonight! I love nights like that.

I do, but I need one of those antique hand-cranked wringers. I have arthritis in my hands and can't wring much water out.  It took three days for the last batch of laundry to dry on the line.

The HOA won't allow clothes lines here. I do hang some of my work clothes but I hang them in the bedroom doorways.

Doesn't the spin cycle in your washing machine wring most of the water out?

I was called. I don't remember what the original charge was but there was a "rider" charge for CS.

When asked if I thought I could be impartial, I quickly said no.

When asked why, I said the CS alone is enough for me.

I was let go.

Either that or the Laundromat. I rent a small cottage with no washing machine hookups.  I don't have a dishwasher, either. Oh, the horror!

I could sooner live without the dishwasher.  I completely wash everything before it goes in the dishwasher.  The dishwasher is a cross between storage & sanitizing.

I don't mind going to the Laundromat. There's a fabulous African market across the street and a great Middle Eastern market on the next block. I pop my laundry in and go shopping. There's a new restaurant across the street, Tijuana Taco. I'll usually get a massive fish taco to bring home for supper.

Oh my.  I have 3 cats.  The dogs will be crated during the day when we are at work.  I'll just have to be careful about them when the dogs are outside in case one of the cats runs through the back yard.

Thanks for the warning.
