Good morning lily. I don't think I want Tuesday to say my name. Now Friday saying my name would be much better.

Tuesday.... our first morning of getting the grand's off to school. Their mom started working full time this morning at 6 a.m.

Good thing we live so close. DH and I can tag team. I get them up, he takes them to school.

I have the laundry done!!

Gosh, I should do this more often. What was I thinking, sleeping in until 6:30 before today?

(butt is dragging)

Oh, and good morning all.

Hi my Czechie! I am in old shoes. Trying to break in the new pair? Ouch! My feet are killing me. I was hoping to leave the pair under my desk. I don't think so.

My maternal grandmother made those, only at Christmas. There were 3 flavors: strawberry, peach and PRUNE. Nobody ever ate the prune ones, but she refused to stop making them.

The way my grandmother made them (and it's been a long time), they reminded me of thumbprint cookies, with the jam in the center.

Flan, I disliked Chappie. And I would eat the prune things. I love prunes. Am I weird? We have a Czech bakery and they make them. It's like a sweet bread dough shaped like a square with some sort of fruit filling in the middle like flan said.

We were supposed to have our little girl today but her mom took her to the doctor. We knew she was sick. She's now on breathing treatments every four hours around the clock. Has a bunch of medicine too. We're not keeping her today but her mom called and asked DH if he'd mind taking her to the pharmacy to get her meds. So he went out to that. My child support came today too and since it's right next door to the pharmacy he's going to get it for me and take it to our bank. We stayed up till four am watching Walking Dead reruns so we're kind of just getting our wind.

I didn't understand it. I have some hearing loss in my left ear. The doctor told me it prevents me from distinguishing different tone levels. When I listen to foreign accents, unless they are loud or close to me it is almost impossible for me to understand them. I understand my DH and FIL because I've spent a profuse amount of time with them. I didn't understand most of the talking in that movie.

I also don't/can't understand movies with sports scenes where everyone is cheering and someone is talking. It's almost impossible for me to separate out the background noise from the talking. I am not deaf enough to qualify for a hearing aid though! We did get rid of our washer because it made so much noise. It was a good washer but I could never hear the tv when it was running. That washer was old but faithful.

I watched a few last night & have others recording. I was late to the party & came in at about the halfway point of season 1. I missed the epic episode with Merle's hand. So I am starting at the beginning of season 1. Once I get to where I started I will delete the rest. I can't wait for the new season!

I've got into Fear the Walking Dead.

It's part of the same series.

Takes place in California. I think it's a prequel.

It's good so far.

I watched it but thought it was slow up until the last episode.  I'm hoping it was just to introduce us to the characters & that next season will be on par with the original.  I will say I didn't fall in love with the characters like I did the original ones.

I don't like any of the characters in this series.  They are all so unlikeable!  Leaving that gate open in their neighborhood, not warning their neighbors that they've been abandoned by the military... and letting all those walkers out in the last episode... was completely evil. I was wishing death on most of them. Also, it appears the writers think our military are all a bunch of a-holes.  That's the way they've portrayed them so far.

For me it's the characters.  They are well written.  Most are good people in a bad situation trying to survive & you really root for them.  Some you sort of want to see them die.

My coworker said the same thing at lunch today.  Not the military part but about how horrible they all are.  I didn't have that take away.  I just find them fairly dull.

IDK - it's hard to explain.  When one is stupid or cowardly & puts the group as a whole in danger then you want to see them go down.  The preacher guy comes to mind here.  He is constantly doing stupid things like leaving the gate open.  Then there was the Governor who was a very rich character but he was a villain that had to be stopped.  The characters get the audience emotionally invested & I think that is a rare quality in current TV.

Really the only 2 that I sort of like are their 2 kids that they left in the car in the parking garage.... which I also thought was a dumb move btw.  lol.  The black guy Strand? seemed kind of cool at first... but they managed to make him unlikeable by the end of the final episode.

I know those two aren't really brother & sister but when they were at that really nice house playing dress up I was getting a whole Flowers in the Attic vibe.

Strand could shape up to be interesting.
