Talk about something fun?

Like.....

Halloween.

What was your favorite costume as a kid?

Favorite candy?

Share a ghost story?

Know any good Halloween jokes?

Hocus-Pocus or Halloween Town?

Don't remember what costume, but always like candy corn... LOL
When I was trick or treating, most people gave homemade popcorn balls, taffy, an apple. Few in our town could afford "store bought" candy. LOL

What was your favorite costume as a kid?
I don't remember dressing up every year. If we did, it was from what we could find at the house. But one year, I got a store bought Wonder Woman costume. The mask was stuffy as all get out but man did I think I was the cat's meow and then some.

Favorite candy?
Chocolate footballs. Do they even still make those?

Share a ghost story?
The house I grew up in was haunted. Period. I know it was, my parents know it and people in the community know it. So many stories I could tell.

But I will relate an incident my mom told me a few years after it happened.

The house was a basic four square house, each room fed into the next and made a circle. There was a very small "hall" from the old dining room into the kitchen. It was as long as the closet on either side was wide.

We always kept the calendar hanging there.

So one day, mom is standing there writing things on the calendar and she feels something brush by her. She said she started to tell my brother to slow down, stop running but she remembered we were both at school.

She said she stepped out into the kitchen and the back door, which was never left open, slammed shut.

Know any good Halloween jokes?
Why are zombie birthday parties so boring? Cause they're all dead! Badumpbump!

Hocus-Pocus or Halloween Town?
I like them both but Halloween Town gets my vote.

Thank you Lily. All the bickering just gets old.

My favorite Halloween costume was Cinderella. My grandmother made it for my aunts & mother. They all wore it. Then me & my female cousins all wore it in turn.

Halloween memory of my father. He would check our bags to make sure nothing was poisoned. For some reason he always suspected the Snickers bars smile

I like candy. All of it. Except licorice or malt balls. I'm sure there are others, but those are the main ones that make me scratch my head and wonder "why."

When I was too old to trick or treat, I'd dress up and sit on the porch and scare the kids. One of my parents did it while the other took us out. The same tradition stands, with my mother dressing up at my house while we take the boys out. Livens up the 'hood a bit. Some of the other neighbors do it as well. Jump out and scare the kids. Such fun.

While I love Fall and Halloween in particular, it's a difficult time with #2 because he always seems to get sick right before Halloween. I'm hoping between the shots and me taking him off his meds, this will be a better year.

I'm going to wait until after Thanksgiving before Halloween stuff.  Then, it's right back to Christmas!
