We have had no cows calve for three days, and I am starting to get twitchy. I have six that look ready to pop, and I am seeing calves in all the shadows. Gleny is carrying twins, and then there is Lucina, Don't, Loo, Karlotta, and Mice all due or over due.
They will all go at once, I just know it, and then a few will go early just because they can.
Oh wow. I hope you have someone (or several someones) to help out when all of those cows give birth at once.
We are here to help with naming the babies.
Do the cycles of cows coincide within a herd the way women who live together do?
They do, actually. Groups of heifers that bond, usually a group of six or eight, tend to all cycle together. Often, when they become cows they still cycle together, right up until one gets pregnant. Sometimes cows will find different friends, and synchronize with them.
It's not unlike people, really. Lalupa and Detour used to be synced, but then Lalupa got pregnant and Detour did not, so now she pals around with Keepsake and Dory, and Detour hangs out with Lloyd and Lucina. But, Dory is moving to the other barn soon, and Lucina is due to calve, so they will both need to find new friends soon.
Maude and Wayfair are no longer synced at all, but they are still very close. Whenever they are in the same group, they are together. They were in the same group as heifers, but four years out, they are still pals.

DS is happily playing with his remote control doggie and trying to feed it spoonfuls of yogurt. I can't wait till Christmas/his birthday when he gets the play stove my parents got him so he can feed the doggie fake food. I don't know which occasion they're planning on giving him the stove for but he's going to be one happy little boy when he opens that box.
DH and I found the fake food aisle at Walmart. It was in the *gasp* GIRL'S toys section! Oh the horror! So DS will be opening a lot of pink boxes come Christmas and his birthday because we're getting him the food, pots and pans, and various themed sets. Oh the humanity! Not.

too funny, my oldest grandson is just 2 and he has a Home Depot tool bench he works on with his tools and he cooks on with his fake food! He pretends to eat it and I have to pretend too LOL. I remember my oldest son who is now 28 doing the same thing with a Little Tyke play kitchen and he is fine and now a good cook, which comes in handy for him as his GF is not really a cook.
I think your son will have a blast with his kitchen and I hope you share pictures, and my three boys had dolls and trucks when they were little as did my two daughters. It all works out, a child's imagination can and should be offered many elements of play. to you and your DH

Awww! I bet that's so cute to watch!
We saw a tool bench at Walmart too that we may get as well as a "working" tool set they have. DS is really into pretend play lately. One of our friends spotted a play vacuum awhile back that she got for him for his birthday. Her kids recently had their birthday party (they're one day so she combines the parties) and her DD got one of those dolls that drink from a bottle. DS carried the doll around for awhile feeding it. He's going to make an awesome father one day. If he decides to get married and have kids, that is.

I find it funny that Target decided to go gender neutral, but all that entailed was changing the colored backgrounds to tan. The boxes are all still pink and purple or blue and red, so a filled shelf still looks the same. And the "girl" legos are still in a separate section by the dolls instead of in the Lego aisle.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I am looking forward to the pictures, my DS who is 24 now had the little tyke work bench and the kitchen and he cooked and worked on both LOL and he is a fantastic diesel technician now. and a good cook.
DGS has a new basketball hoop he got for his birthday and can he make the shots, he hollers balllll and throws it right in. We got him a Harley pedal trike and he is trying to figure the pedals out, as his feet reach them, but his legs are just not quite long enough to make it work, so he walks along on it. Yesterday he got in his brothers walker and couldn't get out so just picked it up like a long skirt and was walking around the family room he is a little goof and we love them both to smithereens

My Dad found a motorcycle-style bike he wants to get DS. We sat DS on it to see if he could reach the pedals (not quite) and boy was he pissed when we took him off it. I'm pretty sure it was called a Yamaha.
we have two powers wheels here, the four wheeler and the pickup and DGS loves them, I really want to get him a Harley Davidson Power Wheels MC, but they are $275. and so I will just let him cruise around in his pickup for now.
Yesterday we were outside tending to the hot tub and he came out to *help* and he saw my DH spraying the roses (which BTW are still looking fabulous!)
DH was holding his finger over the end of the hose to make it spray, and DGS looked over and said "Papa peeing?" LOL I about wet my pants though ha ha

We had the cat dump truck and front end loader power wheels.
The kids loved them.
I think there is still a bat mobile RC in the building.
The big one. I doubt it still works.

DS has a Cars power wheel. We live in an apartment so it doesn't get much use. But, my in-laws wanted him to bring it home even though they have a house.
Before it's mentioned ... I do know we can take him outside and let him drive it around. However, it's not worth the hassle of the neighbor kids coming up and wanting to ride it. They're pushy and don't know what no means. Their parents are MIA when they're out and about and only a few of the kids are old enough to not need adult supervision. It gets tiring for us to constantly have to be playing referee. We don't mind other kids wanting to ride it too but we very much mind them taking over DS' toy. The language barrier doesn't help matters.
